From pain points to opportunities: ActiFry and the french‐fry industry
• 2006– French fry makers were struggling to stand apart in a market that was shrinking 10% a year.
• Industry assumptions (pain points): to make french fries, you have to fry them; frying requires a lot of oil.
• Cooking oil is expensive, and dangerous when hot. Cleaning and disposing is difficult. Using so much oil is unhealthy and fattening.

From pain points to opportunities: ActiFry and the French‐fry industry
• ActiFry - one tablespoon of oil - 40% fewer calories and 80% less fat -easy to clean - no safety or oil disposal issues.
• Groupe SEB’s stock price jumped 5% based on this one product. Actifryremains one of Groupe SEB’s greatest successes, with sales worth € 1 billion worldwide
