Objectives of the Progress Report

1. To make all the stakeholders fully understand the K-12 Program and its implementation.

2. To share actions and strategies towards the transition to K -12 from the old basic education curriculum.

MS Accomplishments1. Administrators’ Professional Development - October 2010; SY 2011-2012 to SY 2012-2013 The school’s administrators attended a series

of seminars from PAASCU, CEM and CEAP Summit conferences on K-12 Basic Education Program .

- January 19, 2012 An Advisory Council meeting was held wherein

the administrators and coordinators discussed the K-12 Goals and the stand of Dep. Ed. on the curriculum reform.

DevelopmentFebruary 16, 2012; March 31, 2012 The administrators and coordinators underwent the

Strategic Planning session with an invited resource person on curriculum development. A follow –up administrators’ workshops on SWOT analysis was conducted as well.

April 11 and 26, 2012The Elementary Asst. Principal, some coordinators and teachers were sent by the school to seminars on K-12 Mother Tongue and Spiral Approach.

1. Administrators’ Professional Development May 15-16, 2012 The Hijas de Jesus Schools’ RCA’s and

Principals with the Provincial Superior convened a roundtable discussion on educative mission and they reflected together on the future of the F.I. schools in the face of the K-12 educational program of the government.

Professional Development Aug. 29-31, 2012 The CEAP National Convention with con –

current session on K-12 was attended by the administrators.Sept.18-19, 2012; October 9-10 and 12, 2012Administrators’ Seminars on K-12 Transition Management organized by different organizations were participated in by MS members of administration.

November 23, 2012 Members of the administration attended the

Annual PAASCU Convention with a theme: “The Future of Accreditation: Building on Strengths, Navigating Change.” The convention focused on the changes facing the educational system.

2. Teachers’ Professional DevelopmentFebruary 29, 2012 The teachers underwent the SWOT analysis

workshops with an emphasis on re – articulating the school’s V-M and assessing the internal and external environment that have a contribution to the school’s curriculum and instruction and other services.

MS Accomplishments2. Teachers’ Professional Development May 9-10, 2012 The teachers underwent the SWOT Analysis

Workshops by subject area during the In – Service Training that contributed to planning frameworks.

November 16, 2012 Grades VII to Year III Advisers with some members

of Administration had benchmarking in San Beda College, Muntinlupa City and Colegio de San Agustin, Makati City.

November 17, 2012 The Preschool, Elementary and High School teachers had a school-based seminar in Manresa School about Spiral-Progression Approach by an invited resource person. All the participants engaged themselves in the simulation activities on inquiry-based approach.

The Kinder and Prep pupils were given an oral diagnostic test in reading to assess the reading ability in preparation for Grade I level.

March 12-23, 2012 The Preparatory pupils in SY 2011-2012

with the reading difficulty attended a two week reading class to better prepare them in Grade I level.

3. Curriculum and InstructionMarch 6, 2012 The school conducted a survey on the

parents’ educational goals to all Grade VI to Yr. III levels before the end of the SY 2011-2012 in order to know the parents’ aspirations that are important in the curriculum development.

3. Curriculum and InstructionMay 11, 2012; May to June 2012

May 14 -31, 2012The Grade 1 and 7 teachers with the subject area coordinators studied and made the subject syllabi following the K-12 Curriculum Guides during the in – service training .

The Asst. Principals and Principal studied the curriculum guide of the K-12 and the guides were distributed to the coordinators for their area articulation during the in-service training. On- going follow up on Gr. 1 and 7 curriculum guides was given emphasis .

3. Curriculum and InstructionJune 25 –July 25, 2012

The 19 accelerated Gr. 1 pupils were given an intensive Reading class .

September to October 2012

All the Gr. 1 pupils were given an oral reading diagnostic test in English to check their progress in reading skills.

MS Accomplishments3. Curriculum and Instruction Course Offering - Mother Tongue was offered as a separate subject in Gr. I level. - Music, Arts, and P.E. are separate subjects in Gr. I level. - Arts was offered as a separate subject in Grade 7. - A decongested curriculum in Gr. 1 and 7

conducted an initial curriculum audit that focused on matching the Gr. 1 and 7 syllabi in English, Math and Science with the K-12 Curriculum Guides to reinforce the competencies in the second and third term.

MS Accomplishments3. Curriculum and InstructionNovember 8, 2012 The Preschool Coordinator, Preschool Teachers

and Principal discussed the prescribed K-12 curriculum in the Preschool and considered the designed framework of the curriculum in order to decongest the existing Preschool curriculum but with an emphasis on basic skills in reading, writing and numeracy.

October 4, 2012 A general assembly of faculty and staff was

held wherein the RCA discussed the school’s plan on K-12 Program.

October 8-15, 2012 Small Group/ Area meetings on Move –

Up plan were considered.

October 16, 2012 A core group meeting on the K-12 Move - Up

Transition Plan was prioritized. The progress report of the implementation of K-12 and some steps in the Transition Program of the school were thoroughly discussed.

MeetingsOctober 23, 2012 A consultation meeting of the RCA with the core

group on the school’s plan for K-12 was conducted for the 3rd time.

October 25, 2012 A review of the school’s Transition Management

Plan was tackled by the administration and the core group.

October 25, 2012 As part of MS educative community, the MSPA

Officers and Board Members, Section Representatives from Gr. 1 to 7, and MSGSB officers attended the Consultation meeting on K-12 set by the school. Questions and suggestions about the transition plan of the school were addressed and taken into consideration.

October 29, 2012 An orientation meeting about the K-12

and Move-Up Transition Plan was provided to the parents of Grades 1 to 7. Some questions and clarifications were addressed during the meeting.

Consultation Meetings Nov. 12, 2012 An orientation about the M-UTP and Summer

Bridge Categorized Program was provided to all the students from Grades 3 to 7. The students were given a chance to raise their questions and they were all answered and further explained for better understanding of their concerns.

November 20, 2012 An orientation about Move- Up

Transition Plan was provided to the Preschool parents. The parents’ questions and concerns about M-UTP were addressed in the meeting.

be on going until December.- Gr.1 pupils shall undergo oral diagnostic test in Filipino in January 2013.

- Kindergarten pupils shall undergo Oral Diagnostic Test in reading before the end of the SY 2012-2013.
