Streamer Submission

• Submission Deadline for the CY2012 Streamer Awards is February 1, 2013

• It is ultimately the responsibility of Post Leaders to make sure that Posts submit on time

• Extensions must be requested at least one week before the submission due date.

• Send All Streamer Submission Forms via e-mail to Kashae Williams, Post Operations Specialist at [email protected]

Streamer Submission

• Submissions received without an accompanying Streamer Submission Form will not be reviewed.

• Always name your streamer in the following format: PostName_StreamerName2012(e.g. BaltimorePost_EducationTraining2012)

• Suggest that RVP’s check SAME website for spreadsheet confirming submission and receipt of Post streamer packages

• HQ sends email acknowledgment upon receiving Streamer package (You will not necessarily receive confirmation the same day of submittal – but you will receive confirmation)

Reconsideration Period

• Reclamation period begins after the streamer results are published

• Last day to request Reconsideration is February 22, 2013.

• Posts have a week to resubmit streamers for reconsideration. Feb. 22-29, 2013

• Posts must email Diana Dawkins, Member and Post Support Director at [email protected] and submit additional information to help support request for reconsideration.

Feb. 4. Tracking sheet is uploaded onto SAME website reflecting streamers received from all Posts by the closing date 1 Feb.

Feb. 6-16. Streamers reviewed by committees

Feb. 18 Streamer Results due to SAME HQ by COB – from Committee Chairs/Members

Feb. 19 Streamer results posted on SAME Streamer page and Post leaders are notified

Feb. 22 Last day for Posts to ask for Reconsideration

Feb. 22 – 29 Posts submit any reconsiderations they may have. Chairs/Committee Members review Post Reconsiderations

March 1 Review Committee Results Due to SAME HQ

March Awards Committee meets to determine Distinguished Posts, Top Posts and Distinguished Region. Results are announced.

2012 Education and Training Streamer (CONUS and OCONUS)

1. Metrics have changed Small Posts- 2 required Medium Posts- 2 required and 1 of 2 desired elements Large Posts – 2 required and 2 of 2 desired elements Streamer with Distinction – all required and desired elements

2. Required by all Posts Assist Members in obtaining and maintaining professional

licensure or certifications utilizing Post Education and Mentoring Funds, Post Scholarship Funds or Post Operating Funds

Provide education forums that award a minimum of 4 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) in support of members who require continuing education credits for their professional registrations or certifications, consistent with SAME Guide to Continuing Professional Competency, 2004.

2012 Education and Training Streamer (CONUS and OCONUS)

1. Removed 2 Desired Elements: Future program, project, and contract opportunities for Department of Defense and non DOD Programs in the Federal, local area or region

2. New Desired Elements: Plan and execute a Small Business conference or workshop

geared towards helping small businesses successfully participate in DOD programs.

One or more Post members submit an article for publication in TME or other professional magazine or journal.

2012 Leadership and Mentoring Streamer (CONUS and Overseas)

• The 2011 Outreach and Communications Streamer has been replaced by the 2012 Leadership and Mentoring Streamer and the elements of the Outreach and Communications Streamer have been incorporated, as appropriate, in the other streamers.

Establish and implement an annual Post Awards Program to recognize Post members

Maintain communications with Post members through periodic emails, electronic newsletters and a Post website

that fosters the goals of SAME Conduct outreach to support wounded warriors and their

families, families of deployed engineers, or families of fallen warriors

• Required by all Posts:Conduct outreach to a minimum of three Federal, State,

Local agencies or NGOs to provide them copies of the SAME Directory of Member Companies and Organizations or equivalent document developed by a Post, and the TISP Regional Disaster Resilience Guide (2011 Edition) and explain their value.

Three committee members have completed IS-100.a (ICS) level training in the past three years.

• New Desired Elements: Hold a Post Emergency Preparedness Exercise to test the ability of Posts to

call up Sustaining Member firms to respond to requests for assistance using the emergency numbers and capabilities contained in the SAME Directory of Member Companies and Organizations or equivalent document developed by the Post

Conduct or participate in an Emergency Preparedness or Homeland Security Workshop as a Post or jointly with other SAME Posts

Three Post members have completed eight hours of training in current calendar year, including but not limited to IS-200.a (ICS) or IS-700.a (ICS 700)

Post member makes a presentation on Readiness and Homeland Security issues or best practices to a SAME, TISP or other organization’s conference

Send a Post Emergency Preparedness Committee member to the TISP Annual Conference

• “Public Sector” refers to anyone employed by a Federal, State or Local Government Agency

• Reference copy of Baseline to find your Post’s Status as of January 1, 2012

• Throughout the year access your Post rosters via CLAS to check your membership stats

1. At least 50% of the Posts within the Region selected as Distinguished Posts.

2. Region showed a net growth in Membership i.e. ∑ Individuals and Sustaining Reps

3. Region nominated at least two individuals for a Society Award or Fellow (deadline for Fellows is Sept 1)
