Street Cause CBIT

Street Cause is an NGO comprising of students, intent on doing their bit for the betterment of society.

It was formed in 2009. It is one of the longest running club of CBIT. It is a perfect platform for all those

enthusiastic and passionate youngsters to do the little to bring about the desired change in the society.

Street Cause has around 50 divisions in different collages, among which CBIT is on the best and longest

running division. Street Cause also has 6 wings namely Street Cause E-force, Street Cause PAW, Street

Cause Research and Innovation, Street Cause Pride, Street Cause Gold and Hyderabad Youth

Assembly.

Street Cause CBIT, a club of CBIT, is a division of Street Cause. Street Cause CBIT was an initiative by

Mithesh Lohiya, our respected alumni, in 2009. Since then, students of the club have been trying to

do their bit towards the society with immense support received from collage.

Currently Dr. A. Vani (Associate Professor, ECE department) and Dr. P. Kowstubha (Associate

Professor, EEE department) are faculty coordinators of the club, i.e., Street Cause CBIT.

Street Cause CBIT works in 5 departments which are as follows:

Each department works in the area as name describes. The division of work to 5 departments is to

ensure most of sections of society can be reached. The events done till date from the respective

Street Cause CBIT is a self-funded organization. Any event done by Street Cause is done by amount

gained through Fundraiser. Neither funds are collected in name of Street Cause CBIT nor any student

associated with Street Cause is asked for funds as donations.

Every year fundraisers are done in order to get funds for events to get done. Each fundraiser has a

theme. Fundraising events done thus far are:

- SPARDHA

• Competition for school students to bring out their skills in Elocution, Essay Writing,

Drawing, etc.

• It is a talent hunt for school students

- GANESHOSTAV

• Street Cause – CBIT has taken a huge step to promote eco-friendly Ganeshotsav.

• Ganesh idols stalls in few of the areas in Hyderabad and at collage.

• We tried to spread knowledge on the disastrous effects on environment if they

continue to buy idols made of plaster of Paris in an effective way

- KHELO HYDERABAD

• Conducted 7 sports namely: Cricket, Futsal, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Carroms

and Chess

• Conducted at collage and Nizam Grounds.

- VOICE OF HYDERABAD

• Main theme behind the event is to encourage the talent of singers.

• Singers across Hyderabad of any age group are encouraged to take part.

- ECHOZ

• Musical event

• A platform to encourage fresh talent.

- TALENTIA

• Online talent hunt.

• Art, Best out of waste, Photography and Quiz.

• Encouraging participants to bring out their hidden talent during lockdown.

Year End Goal - Impact week

• Every year street cause CBIT adopts a village.

• We survey about the village regarding the needs and immediate require.

• Based on the survey, we conduct events in the village.

• Last year during impact week we adopted a small village near Vikharabad district.

• Street Cause conducted medial camp, established water plant, renovated school, created

awareness for young girls and many other events were conducted.

Hyderabad Flood Relief

Water purification plant- 16 March 2019

Up seeing the ability of people of bethalguda of suffering from water borne diseases , we have set

up water purification plant and helped them with piping, flooring and many more.

With 2 successful seasons of this event, Ganeshotsav 3.0 has shown double the results.

This is another fundraiser event where ganesh idols made out of clay are sold in several parts of the

city including Gandipet, Miyapur, Gachibowli , Kukatpally, Himayathnagar and many more.This year

it has extended its boundaries to double the number of stalls to encourage people to buy an

ecofriendly ganesh idol.

Swar 2.0- Paper recycling -26 Sep to 5 Oct

Where we collected used books, papers and recycle them and donate them to underprivileged

students.

Donation of Benches- Aug 29

This event was conducted in adilabads primary school where we donated benches to schools lacking

proper infrastructure.

Sankalp 2.0- oct 16, 18, 22

This event was conducted in various parts of the city

Voice of Hyderabad 3.0- Dec 26 to Jan 23

With 2 seasons being successful, street cause come up with yet another season with a bang

an event where singers from various parts of the city and state irrespective of their age gather to

showcase their melodious voices. Numerous stars and artists promoted the event.

This event took place in 3 rounds where at the end were designated cash prizes worth few

thousands and exciting gifts.This has helped us discover new talent in the city.

Khelo Hyderabad- it is a fundraising event where teenagers and children are encouraged to play

games such as chess ,badminton, cricket and many more .This has indeed been a successful event.

With VOH season 2 being undoubtedly successful, Street cause has come up with season 2 with a

Career guidance -16 Feb 2019

The volunteers have made the event big this time by sharing their knowledge to about 110 tenth

Seminar on rooftop gardening - 16 Feb 2019

Our volunteers have shared their valuable knowledge on plantation and rooftop management

through an effective presentation

SPARDHA- 9 Feb 2019

Spardha is an event taken by education department. It was extremely delightful to witness the girls

competitive spirit and amazed by the performance of few girls as they started to speak during

elocution.

Donation of clothes to akshaya old age homes

This event was conducted by old age home and orphanages department where volunteers spent

their time with the orphans and old age people.It was truly overwhelming to hear their experiences

Swar- event taken up by the social initiatives department in recycling of used books.As a part of this

project collection of record books from all department of CBIT were collected and sent to the

recycling station.

Impact week- adilabad district

Impact week is a week filled with Charity and humanitarianism where volunteers work in setting up

medical camps for all ages, plantation drives, library establishments, smart classes and many more.

This year it has been in villages of Vaman nagar, Ambuguon, Betal guda.

Spardha- March 9 2019

This time the event has been conducted by Education department at Kasturbha Gandhi Balikala

vidyalayam, vikarabad, rickshaw colony where distribution of story books to the primary school

being the highlight of the event.

Akshara- 16 March 2019

This event has been taken by Education department to bring out the importance of education in

rural areas.At the end of the event we provided kids with slates, pencils, napkins, charts and many

more

Udbhava- 17 March 2019

This event involved distribution of sanitary napkins , Menstrual hygiene, Critical thinking and

independent behavior

Workshop on Self defence and Computer basics- Feb 16 2019

A group of volunteers went on and shared few techniques of self defence with students of

government high school at zila parishad high school, Pragathi nagar, Hyderabad.

This time the event has been conducted by Education department at KGVP , moinabad.

Students actively participated in drawing competition and essay competition and won certificates

Medical camp-16 March 2019

A medical camp was organized at the ambugoan village.The main purpose of this event was to

impart awareness on modern medicine. At the end of the event they were provided with medicines

and supplements and kits.

The distribution of sarees to the villagers ensured proper clothing for the women having less than 3

Swayam upadhi-14/12/2019

It is an awareness campaign for women empowerment wih the main intention of providing self

employment to the women.

It is a permanent project of street cause cbit where he art of stiching is being shared to the women

in aAdilabad.

Blanket donation drive-12-01-2020

Here SC Cbit has taken action to protect the homeless by providing them warmth in this cold by

donating blankets niloufer cancer hospital, Lakdikapool & Osmania hospital

Echoz-09-02-2020

The music concert here nearly 1000 people showed up to the concert to watch the singers perform.

Hit song Ramulo Ramula's singers Anurag Kulkarni and Mangli; Hemachandra and his brand-new

band; Other famous bands like Jammers, Madira and Chowraasta entertained the crowd with their

top notch performances. The winners of their previous fundraiser, Voice of Hyderabad- Season 3,

also got to showcase their talent at this concert.

AKSHARA-07/03/2020

It is an event with the main motto of Student Interaction and Donation of required materials.

Street Cause CBIT has donated fans, tube lights, pots for water storage and meshes.

SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOP, CAREER GUIDANCE AND SPARDHA-08/03/2020

Self-defence workshop and Spardha was conducted in KGBV school, Chevella. The main intention is

to create awareness in the girls regarding how they can protect themselves from any situation. The

workshop made them learn some of the techniques on how they could defend themselves. Essay

writings, elocution and drawing competitions were conducted.Apart from doing self-defence

workshop and Spardha, career guidance was also provided to class 10 students.

This career guidance gives an insight to students what to do after 10th and what stream to select, as

we gave brief information to achieve their dream role/job.

COVID-19 relief project-01 -24/03/2020

Street Cause CBIT has taken this as an opportunity to help and donated groceries and other

necessities at Amma Nanna Orphanage, Choutuppal to ensure no one out there has to sleep hungry.

COVID-19 relief project-02 -31/03/2020

Street Cause CBIT has taken this as an opportunity to help old age homes and orphanages by

donating basic groceries.

To make them accessible with the basic necessities we have donated mathrudevobhava home with

basic groceries which they are in need of.

Many orphanages and old-age home folks are deprived of a proper meal.

COVID-19 relief Project-04 -01/04/2020

On 1 April 2020 our team street cause CBIT has supplied 1-day full meals to the elders, and they also

supplied medicines to the old age home called means which is located in moulali.


Street Cause has given 3000/- to Shirdi Sai Old age home using which they bought 120 adult diapers


Street Cause has donated necessary groceries to Narsanna old-age home.


Street Cause has provided some of the basic amenities to one of the orphanages called care and love

which is located in gajularamaram, Hyderabad.

Street Cause have donated wheelchairs to 15 school-going children in vikarabad district, Telangana.

Construction of water sumps under IMPACT WEEK 2020-01/06/2020

During the survey for impact week, we came across a village - Mittakankal suffering from drought

and lacks the proper equipment to conserve water.We have planned of constructing sumps to store

the water for the cattle.

Masks and Blankets distribution-27/07/2020

Street Cause donated masks and blankets to the needy so that they can keep themselves warm and

safe from the deadly virus.

Talentia is a platform to show off one's skills and get recognized for the work.

It is the very first online fundraiser.The cthis task wasontests organised in this event are in Art, Best

out of waste, Photography, and Quiz.

SANKALP 3.0 event-1 -06-08-2020

treetCause CBIT has stepped forward and donated required groceries to Vatsalya Sindhu Orphanage,

Moulali so that the children can get a proper diet and not be malnutrition.

Workshop on the environment and its importance-19/11/2020

Street Cause have arranged an interactive session with 6 to 18-year-old kids at Great Commission

Orphanage and explained Waste Management, Pollution, Rainwater harvesting, Plastic usage, and

the importance of saving animals.

This event was conducted online with interesting presentations. This event was taken up by

Environment depatment.

Presentation on Hygiene and Covid Precautions-18/11/2020

this task was taken by Orphanage and old-age homes department.We educated the HIV affected

kids at Desire Society regarding the same since the need to be hygienic is now immense. We have

also taught them the precautions to be taken to prevent Covid. This interactive event was conducted

online with an interesting presentation.

Flood relief project -15/10/2020

This task was taken by Orphanage and Oldage homes department.

The unfortunate heavy rains in Hyderabad, has left many people including Labours and Vegetable

vendors with no food and shelter.

We have provided food packets to The Sudheer Foundation which is badly affected by heavy rains.

Flood relief project-2 -16/10/2020

This task was taken by Orphanage and Old age homes.

We have provided food packets for daily wage workers,old people and children so that they can stay

healthy.

Slum Adoption Project-05/07/2020

Slums in Hyderabad are struggling with a major crisis due to the current situation.We at Street Cause

CBIT have come together and took an initiative to help people living in the slums We adopted 7

families in the slums, providing them with monthly groceries for next three months depending on

the situation, till it becomes a satisfactory place to live at.

Self employment and mask donation-20/09/2020

this task was taken up by Women Empowerment Department.

We donated stitching machines to five women who are financially weak, unemployed but have

knowledge in basics of stitching. We believe that by this they can earn a living on their own. Along

with providing them with machines, we also gave them their first order,i.e., making masks. The

masks made by them are distributed to the people of pothireddy guda village.

Digital Classroom setup-27/11/2020

this task was taken up by Orphanage and old-age homes department.

we have set HIV affected teens at DESIRE Society with a Computer and a projector so that they can

learn with ease and not stress their eyes at the same time.
