Edition 31/2013 Tuesday 22nd October 2013, Term 4 Week 3 STROUD ROAD PUBLIC SCHOOL Respect and Care, Learn and Share From the Relieving Principal’s Desk: Active After School: Active After School will commence today from 2.30pm—3.30pm. Mrs Earle will be taking the Tuesday afternoon sessions and will be teaching the children various skills and team sports. Today the focus was on volleyball. We will also commence this Thursday, rugby skills with Katie Fisher, again students will be required to be picked up at 3.30pm. Teen Talk: Year 6 will be combining with Stroud, Booral & Stratford students in Teen Talk this Friday, 25th October. Students will be required to be dropped off at Stroud School on Friday morning. At the conclusion approx. 1.00pm students will be required to be picked up and can return to school if desired. If anyone is having difficulty with transport please come and see me and we will make arrangements. Hobby Groups: Hobby groups will commence this Friday afternoon. If you would like to assist with a group please let me know. All assistance is greatly appreciated! P&C Meeting: The P&C will be meeting this Friday, 25th October at 12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Pirate School: What a wonderful day K/1/2 had on Friday at Pirate School. The students had a very early start to their day, leaving Stroud Road at 5.45am.,arriving at Circular Quay shortly after 9am and then they enjoyed morning tea at the Opera House. This was followed by a ferry ride to the Maritime Museum to attend Pirate School. The highlight of their day was after finding the treasure, receiving their ‘pirate licence’. The children have also been busy back at school engaging in ‘pirate activities’. Thankyou to Mrs McNeice, Mrs Dennis and parents for accompanying the students on this excursion. On next week’s newsletter K/1/2 students will be publishing some stories regarding their excursion. Chickens: Our three chickens have now been named by the students. These are: KFC, Penny and Sweetie. The children have taken on the responsibility of feeding and watering the hens and were reward- ed yesterday with their first eggs. Well done everyone! From the Relieving Principal’s Desk:

Active After School:

Active After School will commence today from 2.30pm—3.30pm.
