2.3 Estimating  Our estimating department uses the latest bespoke estimating, optimisation and calculation software packages. We use the information derived from our bespoke software to calculate quotations using comparable data from similar, fulfilled contracts to ensure that the price quoted is accurate and competitive.    We continually refer to and analyse performance data from a range of relevant types of contract to enhance our efficiency and competitive edge. We use the latest accounting software so estimating and finance departments can analyse performance against budget.  This detailed information enables us to offer clients a ‘partnering’ or ‘framework’ agreement approach, with rates agreed in advance, in return for a commitment from clients for future work.  Tender submissions are prepared in a clear and concise manner, paying great attention to our responsibilities as a specialist contractor.

    12.1 Selected Testimonials

National Archives, Kew    “Structura UK was retained as a specialist contractor by ETDE FM to carry out a complex re-glazing and refurbishment contract at The National Archives. The building was in full occupation throughout the works and it was critical that the daily operations of the building remained unimpeded.   “Structura UK’s professional approach to all aspects of the project ensured that the works were carried out on time and on budget. They were responsible for all aspects of the project, including the scaffolding and temporary works elements, replacement of 2,100m² of existing double glazed units and the refurbishment of the existing glazing system, replacement of the existing smoke vent and associated electrical works. Over 40,000 man hours were expended on the project during the 12-month on-site period without any major incidents or accidents. We would not hesitate to use Structura UK again.”

Shahram Safari, Senior Project Manager, ETDE FM

“Structura UK is an exemplary contractor and we’ve now got the confidence with Structura that the roof maintenance and warranty are in perfect hands.”

Spokesperson from The Estates & Facilities Department, The National Archives   Evelina Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London     “We selected Structura UK to complete the glazing replacement at Evelina Children’s Hospital as they offered an innovative solution to what was an extremely challenging project in the heart of London. This was an award-winning, extremely busy Children’s Hospital, the scale and risk involved were not to be underestimated.  Structura UK’s approach was best described as ‘outstanding,’ completed safely, on time, and to budget. Structura will be our first choice selection for future projects.”

Sean Quinn, Contracts Director, MJ Gleeson   Design, Prototype & Testing Centre, University of Sheffield - Kalwall  “We have been impressed by the performance of the Kalwall. All the contractors which have used Kalwall products on the campus have commented how easily it went in, causing no problems with the programme or for other trades. The campus is stunning.”

  •  Central House, Harrogate    "Structura was principal contractor for the refurbishment and remodelling of the curtain wall installation at Central House, Harrogate, a 200,000 square foot multi-let office building on three floors that was originally built in 1979 as head office for the CEGB. The works were undertaken over a 40 week period whilst the building remained in full occupation throughout. We were very pleased with the way the project ran and Structura ensured that those using the building had appropriate temporary access during the project. I would not hesitate to recommend Structura to manage and deliver this type of project."

Steve Throp, Building Consultancy Director, Savills  Athenaeum Hotel, London  “I worked with Structura UK as the principal contractor for the refurbishment and re-modelling of the new windows, doors and balustrading on the Athenaeum Hotel, Piccadilly. The works were undertaken over a 26 week period and required careful and concurrent working with the internal refurbishment contractor. It was difficult at times, particularly at the start, though without the pragmatism, proactive and personal approach of David Rickman and Manny Patel it could have been far more challenging. The final product is something to be proud of and I would not hesitate to recommend Structura to manage and deliver this type of project."

Chris Twigg, Hammonds Consulting   Pinnacle House, Wimbledon  “Structura developed the design intent and realised the vision excellently, working with us to develop innovative design solutions such as the curved fin profile which is a distinctive feature of the building.”

    John Lacey, Matt Architects

110 High Holborn, London  ”Structura worked with us to overcome all the difficulties we encountered – the work was undertaken to an exacting specification and a very high standard. This was a very complex project in a fully-occupied building on one of London’s busiest roads adjacent to Holborn Tube Station. Our mutual client was delighted with the result, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Structura for this type of project.”
