FINAL PROJECT

Goal To design a structure of Transporter used to lift and shift heavy equipments and carry out the static analysis.
ObjectivesDesign Requirements
● The overall dimensions is 4x1.5x0.7 mtr
● The height of lifting should be more than 500 mm
● Material : Steel can be used
● Assume 200 bar Pressure is required to operate the
cylinder with a load of 30 tons.

Frame:
The frame is the base structure for the Transporter. All the parts will be assembled on this frame and hence the strength of this frame is very important. The frame has been analysed for static load of 30 tons applied on the frame by constraining the required points. Quick check and Multipass static analysis has been carried out and the measured values and results are as shown below.

Cylinder Body:
Cylinder body is the structure of the cylinder which holds all the parts of cylinder.The cylinder body has been analysed by constraining the head end by pin and fixing the opposite end. Uniform pressure of 200 bars has been applied to internal surface of cylinder body and maximum stress and displacement has been checked and found to be within limits.Quick check and Multipass static analysis has been carried out and the measured values and results are as shown below.

Cylinder Rod:
Cylinder Rod is the part of the cylinder assembly which moves in cylinder body (translational motion) upto definite stroke length.The cylinder rod has been analysed by constraining the rod end by pin constraint and setting X direction free in the opposite end. Uniform pressure of 200 bars has been applied to the cylinder rod and maximum stress and displacement has been checked and found to be within limits.Quick check and Multipass static analysis has been carried out and the measured values and results are as shown below.

Cylinder Plate:
The cylinder plate covers the cylinder body and guides the cylinder rod to move. When cylinder is functioning, huge pressure is enforced on this place and rod.This plate has been analysed by fixing the holes where the bolts will be assembled and uniform pressure of 200 bars has been applied to face of the plate. Quick check and Multipass static analysis has been carried out by shell analysis and the measured values and results are as shown below.

Link:
Link connects connects the cylinder and the slider. It converts the stroke of the cylinder into vertical translation motion.Link has been analysed by constraining the holes by providing pin joint. Load due to stroke of the cylinder (i.e. 200 bar pressure) and the external load of 30 ton is applied on the holes connecting link and cylinder rod end and holes connecting link and the slider respectively. Quick check and Multipass static analysis has been carried out and the measured values of Von Mises Stress and displacement are as shown below.

Slider is the part which connects the link and the top plate and it slides in the groove of the top plate to facilitate in converting the cylinder stroke into vertical motion without any obstruction.The Slider has been analysed by fixing the sliding surface and the pin.
