We have all now settled into Year 1. Here is what we’ve been up to…
Year 1 News from Term 1 and 2 2017
Our learning journey was ‘Farm to Fork. In English, we wrote about all the different animals on the farm and what food we get from them. We made a healthy sandwich with ingredients you can get from the farm.
In Maths, we learned about measure. We learned how to use a ruler and found objects that were either longer or shorter than a metre!
In science, we have been learning about seasons. We observed the different signs of autumn.
In RE Father Barry came to visit us and teach us all about
Baptism. In Term 2 we have…
In Term 2 our learning journey was called ‘Fly me to the moon’. We enjoyed learning about Neil Armstrong and creating our reports about the moon.
In Maths we had fun learning about 2d shapes. We enjoyed using 2d shapes to make shape aliens! We also enjoyed making aliens from clay too!
We had a great time making our space rockets. We used tin foil, paper triangles, paper circles and tape.
