The Student Hub is a one-stop-shop for students, offering help and advice on all aspects of student life.
The team is responsible for maintaining the College accommodation pages, Imperial Home Solutions and the annual programme of housing events
In 2012, the Accommodation team and Student Hub teams merged to offer a complete and united service to our students.

The Student Hub and Student Accommodation
Accommodation is a core aspect of the Student Hub services, and a key consideration for students as well. Below are just some of the ways in which we help our
students in regards to accommodation
We provide central administrative support to the students living in our halls of residence
We run Imperial Home Solutions, an exclusive property search website for Imperial students
Every year we hold a variety of workshops and events to help students moving into the private sector, including: Private Housing Talk May’s Housing Mayhem Find a Flatmate Contract Checking
We produce a range of literature, including an overview into life after halls and an area guide

Private Housing Talk
EVEN
TS
One of the most important and largest attended events
in the College’s calendar, the annual Private Housing
Talk attracts around 1,200 students on the day with
many more visiting the website and taking note of
associated marketing. The event is primarily targeted at
first year students living in halls who will be looking to
make a move into private accommodation the following
academic year.
This event presents an ideal opportunity for letting
agents, private accommodation providers and others
to showcase their services to a captive market. The
exhibition is open for around an hour before and after
the talk. The event takes places before the Easter
vacation to allow students to consider what they
have learned so they are ready to start their property
searches come the summer term.

Housing Fair EV
ENTS
Introduced in 2013, the Housing Fair takes place in May when most of our students are actively looking for their
home for the next academic year. This event provides the opportunity to make direct contact with prospective
student tenants who may be looking to secure their lettings before they depart for the summer vacation in
June.
Part of the May Housing Mayhem, the Housing Fair plays a key part of this month-long focus on housing
alongside contract-checking services and a Find-a-Flatmate event, all designed to support all Imperial
students with their search for private accommodation from first years to seasoned postgraduates.

About the website
www.imperialhomesolutions.co.uk
An exclusive property search website for Imperial students, Imperial Home Solutions allows private landlords, letting agents, private halls and others to advertise their rooms and properties directly to prospective student tenants.
In 2012-13, the website enjoyed over 50,000 visits and features a detailed property search function which sorts relevant available properties for the student, in addition to accommodation guides and a useful forum.
We are introducing a brand new section for agents and private halls, which will feature listed agents who will benefit from a dedicated company profile page with logo, images and company details.

With over 1.5m hits last year, the College’s Accommodation website is one of its most visited.
Accommodation is high on the agenda for all our students and the website is used as the first port of call for
prospective students and parents to continuing students looking for new accommodation options and advice.
Whilst this website is not an advertising channel, its high usage presents an ideal platform to introduce yourself as
an accommodation provider and highlight your services to prospective and current students, parents and other
visitors through a basic company profile.
The Accommodation website is also the primary source to finding the Imperial Home Solutions property search
website.
