and crafts for the children to take part in.

fun games and social activities with visually

The mums on the run project aims to encourage
mothers of all fitness levels and ability to start
running and improve their overall fitness and
running skills. Come along with a friend to help
cheer on these ladies and marshal the track!

‘GIVE IT A GO’: GOALs (Go Out And Live)
GOALs runs weekly informal sessions involving
activities and trips for young adults with learning
difficulties from the local area. These trips widen
aim to improve the social skills and self-confidence
of our service users in an informal setting through
conversation and games.

Fancy a work out? Want to meet new people?
Active Steps gets groups which might not
prioritise physical activity within their daily
routine moving. You can either help out with

Set at a beautiful farm in the North Yorkshire
Moors, the farm works with children and adults
who have learning difficulties, boosting their
confidence through social interaction. We are

Our project Free Cakes for Kids is running a
bake sale in the Palatine Centre! If you want to
bake cakes to sell, help on the stall on the day,

DEMENTIA AWARENESS SESSION
Led by our own Dementia Friend Champion,
Hannah Finney, this training session is designed
to raise awareness about dementia. The session
will cover information on common types of
dementia and how to support people with
dementia. This session will be particularly useful
for anyone volunteering with the elderly, but all
students are welcome!

HOMEWORK CLUB
A great opportunity to help primary school
children, many of whom are not native speakers
of English, with their schoolwork as well as
supervising a variety of recreational activities.

DISC OLYMPICS SPORTS DAY
We are partnering with DISC to run an Olympic-
themed Sports Day at their centre in Pelton for
adults with disabilities. From athletics to volleyball,
there will be plenty of fun activities to get involved

RDA runs a weekly trip to Washington Riding
Centre, a local specialist centre which provides
therapeutic lessons for disabled riders. Volunteers
help with the feeding, grooming and leading of
horses. As a special SVW treat, the centre have
offered us 14 spaces! Contact Janni and Tania at:
[email protected] to get involved.

Location: Washington Stables. Transport it
provided.
