What is Campus Recreation?Campus Recreation is an office within the Division o Student Services. TeCampus Recreation Office maintains and operates the Donald S. SpencerStudent Recreation Center, Vince Grady Field, Harry Mussatto Gol Course,the Sipolt Memorial Disc Gol Course, and numerous other outdooracilities. Programs include intramural sports, sport clubs, Rec Events,fitness services, and aquatics.

ne drizzly day in a small fish market on the West Coast, a group o workers muddled through their jobs oping and selling fish. Suddenly, there was a revelation: I they had to show up and do these somewhat mundaneanyway, why not HAVE FUN?

GENERAL STUDENT EMPLOYMENT POLICIES
Student employees may not work more than 20 hours per week or 8 hours per day during the academic year.Falsification o hours worked is grounds or immediate dismissal. Students suspected o alsiying time cards willbe reerred to the Director o Campus Recreation.Payroll is prepared every two weeks beginning on Mondays. I you work between August 18 and August 31, youwill recieve your paycheck on September 12. A direct deposit orm must be completed and filed withPayroll. Paychecks must be directly deposited into your personal bank account.

All student employees must be available or weekend duty.
ployee RecordsEmployees may receive a written commendation or outstanding perormance or a written notification whenperormance is below expectations. Tese notices will be placed in their employee file and can be used as areerence or employee evaluations.
ployee TrainingYou are required to attend each semester’s employee training. You may also be required to attend in-services and/or staff meetings.All Campus Recreation first line responders are required to be CPR/First Aid/AED certified within 30 days otheir original employment date. (National Saety Council or Red Cross certifications are provided ree o chargeto all firstline responders who are Campus Recreation employees.You must know the Emergency Procedures in your area. I any injury or accident occurs, notiy the supervisoron duty immediately.
Permied While on Duty When you are on duty, participation in individual leisure activit y is NO allowed.Friends, acquaintances, or significant others should not visit/socialize with you while you are on duty.Wearing o headphones, playing o electronic games, MP3’s, or cards are not allowed during working hoursunless approved by your supervisor.Doing non-work related tasks (including reading magazines, newspapers, books, or doing homework) ispermitted at your workstation with the permission o your supervisor. In the event that your job perormanceand/or customer service skills are not exemplary, these privileges will be terminated immediately.
Employee DisciplineAll Campus Recreation employees are required to ollow the policies, procedures, and expectations o CampRecreation. Additional expectations, are ound in the Code o Student Conduct
Student employees who ail to adhere to these standards, policies, etc. will be addressed with a written noticenotice includes a summary o the incident; the action taken by the staff member, grad or lead; and the emplocomments. Tis orm will be orwarded to the employee’s supervisor or his/her comments/actions.
Campus Recreation also utilizes a Disciplinary Points System or actions o discipline. Te point system allowuniormity o disciplinary consequences, resulting in an objective disciplinary system. As a part o write-upemployees will be assessed points or each disciplinary policy violation. Shif reports will serve as the primao inormation regarding employee actions. However, proessional and graduate staff observation and nightwill also be used to monitor employee perormance. Some actions may be area-specific or may not apply toemployee’s area. When a student employee accrues 6 points, he or she will be placed on two weeks probation. During the properiod, employment will be automatically terminated i any additional points are accrued. Upon completingweek probationary period without additional points, the employee’s total will return to 5 points.
Excepons
In addition to the policies stated here, employment may also be automatically terminated with cause by the proessional staff member.
Points Reducon System
Points accrued will be reduced by hal at the end o the all semester. At the end o the spring semester, all pwill be reset to zero. Supervisors may also reduce points or good eedback reports or perormance reviews.
