and initiative• facilities and materials• our educational community needs
and future activities
Students’ interests and abilities

• Castings• Communication: display of
information around school, school’s website, social networks
• Flexibility (schedule, sites, school rules)
• ‘Learning by doing’: incorporate abilities of the Program in our official curriculum
Castings (October-November 2012)• 8 meetings, 57 students presenting their
talents• Areas
– dance and choreography– music and singing– art – drama– circus and sports exhibitions (Taekwondo)
• Age groups – 1º ESO (12-13 yrs old) 31 students (20 girls, 11 boys)– 2º ESO (13-14yrs old) 3 students (1 girl, 2 boys)– 3º ESO (14-15 yrs old) 5 students (4 girls, 1 boy)– 4º ESO (15-16yrs old) 6 students (4 girls, 2 boys)– 1º Bachillerato (16-17yrs old) 8 students (3 girls, 5

Students’ interests and abilities
• difficulties to make older students participate activly in the activities
• younger students are very motivated -although they couldn’t travel to France– showing abilities– audience– support their peers–meeting teachers they don’t know/
seeing teachers outside classes
Members of the staff collaboration and initiative
• 8 members of Comenius Program– difficulties to coordinate interests, points of view,
curricular activities and schedules (and more working hours)
• 1-hour weekly meetings – during Oct-Dec 2012 meetings every week, e-
mails and informal reunions
• teachers in charge of different areas• communication• flexibility and avalability during breaks,
afternoons, working hours• 1-on-1 communication and motivation • School’s headmaster and authorities’ support
Facilities and materials• school’s facilities -gymnasium, music classroom, staff
room, corridors and patio• facilities would not meet our needs (e.g. acoustic
problems at the gym)• amount of students at school made the access to
facilities and the use of materials difficult• lack of materials and resources (computers, cameras,
programs) created some difficulties– students and teachers had to use their own/ personal
materials– no future plans to onvest on ITCs
• on the bright side: students and teachers collaboration (use of facilities, silence, etc.)
Our educational community needs and future activities
• coordination with other programs concerning teachers and students (high capacities, English Dpt., P.E. Dept., extracurricular activities, Por huecos… Program) not always involved in SGT
• collaboration of P.E. Dept. in the use of the gym and sports facilities
• change of dynamics during the school break• SGT activities to be included at school’s
traditional events and festivities
Planning ahead + Challenges
• music: two different perspectives, two different set of activities
• find a way to sustain effort+motivation+ activities during the rest of the year (= no Comenius Meeting until Oct 2013)
• contact with other students participating in SGT and their activities
• star working with the different disciplines after Xmas Break –the participation and activities have been open so far
• find a place and way to display photographs, pictures and students’ artwork at school
Plan December 2012- June 2013
