FEBRUARY 2015 Students score outstanding success in ESOL exams Many congratulations to our students, who achieved a 100% pass rate in the latest round of Cambridge ESOL exams. In the first-stage Key English Test (KET), over 40% of students gained a Distinction, with a further 40% awarded a Merit. At the next level up, 12.5% of students taking the Preliminary English Test (PET) passed with Distinction, while over 60% received a Merit. Everyone worked extremely hard for these exams, which are internationally recognised qualifications, and a vital part of our students’ preparation for their destination schools. We’re sure you’ll join us in congratulating them on their outstanding success. Meet our new Interim Principal A warm Bishopstrow College welcome to Eric Squires, who’s joined us as our Interim Principal for the remainder of this academic year. He joins us with previous experience at International College Sherborne, where he was Director of Studies; he’s also a former Principal of Bellerbys Cambridge and Bell Bedgebury, and hasworked extensively overseas. As a school, we’ll benefit greatly from his enormous experience and enthusiasm, and we’re delighted to have him with us. Bishopstrow becomes a Quality Education college We’re delighted to announce that we’ve just been licensed by Quality Education, the leading global brand for independent colleges teaching international students in English. To achieve this accreditation, we had to complete a detailed selection and inspection process, which included seeking feedback from students and agents on our facilities, courses, personal service and individual attention. Quality Education will visit us at least every three years to ensure we continue to maintain its extremely high standards for teaching and learning.
