Home to many celebrities and artists, the most
populous and culturally diverse borough of
New York City hosts the LIU Brooklyn campus
in the trendy neighborhood of Fort Greene.
TECH TRIANGLE
LIU Brooklyn is one of 12 universities in the greater
Downtown Brooklyn-Dumbo-Navy Yard district,
an area with a combined population of more than
57,000 students. Business and academia live
side-by-side here, as 523 innovation firms with
a $3.1 billion economic impact are also based in
the neighborhood (Source: Urbanomics). Since
2001, billions of dollars have been invested in
the development of the Tech Triangle.
BARCLAYS CENTER
Just three blocks southeast near Atlantic Terminal
is the $4.9 billion multi-purpose indoor arena that
primarily hosts sports games and concerts.
PROSPECT PARK
Designed by the creators of Central Park in
Manhattan, this public space features a 90-acre
meadow, a waterfall garden, Brooklyn Bandshell
offering free outdoor concerts in the summer,
hiking trails, sports facilities, and the Prospect
Park Zoo. The Brooklyn Museum of Art and the
Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are located right
next to the park.
CONEY ISLAND BEACH
This NYC beach is popular for its boardwalk,
Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, the amusement park,
and its sandy beaches that stretch for almost 5km.
As a residential student you will be immersed
in the vibrant downtown Brooklyn area, just
a short subway ride from the vast cultural
offerings and professional opportunities
of Manhattan.

Situated at the intersection of Flatbush and
DeKalb Avenues, the campus is served by
several New York City subway lines in front
of campus, and is three blocks from Atlantic
Terminal, a transportation hub with additional
train options including the Long Island
