Education Background

Education Background

Geomatics is defined as a systemic, multidisciplinary, integrated

approach to selecting the instruments and the appropriate techniques for

collecting, storing, integrating, modeling, analyzing, retrieving at will,

transforming, displaying and distributing spatially geo-referenced data from

different sources with well- defined accuracy characteristics, continuity and in

a digital format (Gomarasca, 2014). Erected on the scientific framework of

geodesy, it uses terrestrial, marine, airborne and satellite-based sensors to

acquire spatial and other data. Some initiatives are presently developing

worldwide using geomatics disciplines and techniques for the regulation of

GeoSpatial Information, or more simply GeoInformation (GI) and for the

adequate use of Earth Observation (EO) data for studying and managing

environmental hazards and risks (Correa, 2013). I am very interested in

geomatics because it helps the human life Such as disaster management,

urban and regional planning, environmental monitoring. Etc.

1. Disaster Mitigation

Indonesia is prone to disaster because of the geographical location of

Indonesia who had the plate and the many volcanoes that needed a good

disaster management. Geomatics assist in disaster mitigation. The disasters

such as landslides, earthquakes, and tsunamis. To identify the various

disasters may use different systems and methods. This observation likes

mapping and monitoring in disaster-prone areas using GPS technology,

remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS). Beginning from

the observation uses a variety of methods and sensors, so the characteristic

of the potential hazards and its impact can be expected, studied, and

Analyzed.

2. Urban and regional planning

Cities must have good planning, it shows culture of all the city.

Basically, In Geomatics Engineering Learns about "positioning and

mapping". So, it can be determined by mapping the boundaries of our

country with each nation and give information about the condition along

the frontier region. In planning regional and the city needed a map, like

the map of a population, contour maps etc. So that a city can be seen

progress each period (Vink, 1975).

3. Environmental Monitoring

Remote sensing help in environment management, by using remote

sensing can determine the quality of the environment such as chlorophyll,

land subsidence, river turbidity levels etc. Remote sensing method is very

effective and efficient to observe the environment with comprehensive

coverage.

Major Favourite Course

I prefer to remote sensing for urban and regional planning. This is

according to my research topic. The strategic of urban planning and

management is using the planning and monitoring of general land use in a

city, such as different types of residential, industrial and commercial areas.

Resume of Final Project

The development of county is rapid and the number of people each

year continues to grow. This is a major factor for increasing human needs

such as the needs of residential, industrial, port, agriculture / fisheries,

tourism, regional center of government and so on. This problem causes the

higher level of demand for land therefore contributes to a change of land

property. According to that problem, we need to analyze the land property for

land use in the Lumajang subdistrict for knowing the changes of land tenure

so it suits to Lumajang subdistrict’s planning. This study uses data spatial and

non-spatial. Land use maps in 2014 and 2015 and map parcels in 2014 and

2015 were used for the spatial data, while land tenure data is used for non

spatial data. ArcMap 10.3 is used for processing map. Overlay and cropping

function in Analysis tool in ArcMap 10.3 is used to process the changes in

land tenure that has three rights; ownership rights, building rights on land,

and right of use, also is used to obtain land use change’s map. After the

process finished, the calculation area is calculate using Geometry Calculation

in field attribute. The results of this study explain that the changes of land use

oftenly occur in residential area.

Research Project

Based on the final project, I am interested in remote sensing for urban

and regional planning. Especially the problem of the type of ettlement,

industrial, land use and trade area. Since the development of information

technology and urban development are high it needs all the good city plan.

So I will do the research is” The Analysis of Management Planning for The

Preparation of a Detailed Plan Map as a City Spatial Development Efforts

Cyber City”.

Background and Motivation

Urban planning is a key tool for local leaders in supporting the

realization of a city’s vision. According Grubler, 1998 that Spatial planning and

the city, geomatics has several benefits as follows: (1) Media information

exchange (sharing) that quickly and accurately between institutions involved

in spatial planning. The database is good, can be used by various agencies

to meet their needs, it is the basis of one map development policy; (2) Support

in decision making in spatial planning; (3) Support the participatory process,

as a medium for dialogue between decision-makers with the community; (4)

Media information quickly and dynamically, for example spatial disaster

response; (5) The current spatial information that is sensitive to aspects of

space and time, a model example of a change in land use; and (6) Assist the

sectoral analysis in the preparation of the document layout. Thus optimizing

the utilization of Geomatics application will greatly assist the process of

spatial planning.

Research Aims

The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of urban

development, economic development of a city and determine changes in the

topography of a city. future development based on spatial planning can be

published in international journal

Study Method

This study uses data spatial and non-spatial. Spatial data in the form

of land use maps, maps of settlements, eroded soil vulnerability maps,

satellite imagery etc. whereas non-spatial form of data both economic,

cultural etc. after that all the data in the overlay to obtain topographical

information that is complete and has a mouth full of information.

Analysis can use ArcGIS using various tools such as overlay spatial,

within, spatial geometry etc. Patches of various data obtained results of

analysis of the pattern of urban development, disaster mitigation, for making

a decision.

Management Planning

The results of this study are expected to support the management of

regions and cities. By using remote sensing and the use of the variable land

use, type of settlement. Industrial and Trade areas. So, it can be used to map

and provide local information developments and less developed regions etc.
