Study Plus - Information, Advice and Guidance
Careers Programme 2019/2020
Our information, advice and guidance curriculum is carefully planned for within all our Study Plus
programmes and is sufficiently flexible to be adapted to suit the needs of each learner. Underpinning
our courses is the expectation that each learner will emerge from the programme with a clear, realistic
plan of what they are aiming to achieve in their careers and an action plan of how they can get there.
At interview, we will discuss with you your career plan, personal goals and why you have chosen to do
our course – it will also help to clarify whether our course is the right one for you. If you join us, the
information that you share with us at interview will feed directly into your personal individual learning
plan for use throughout your course.
Your career and personal goals are regularly reviewed throughout the course, giving you the chance
to reflect on how you are getting on against achieving them and to reconsider or amend any that have
changed.
Below are the main activities within our enrichment and career programme that are available to our
students. They have been selected because they can help develop useful skills and support the
fulfilment of future career plans within Hertfordshire and beyond. All learners are expected to
participate in these activities.
In addition, we have an IAG board that is kept up to date with local news, open days, job opportunities
and any other helpful information that is useful for our young people.
