I thank you for the opportunity to introduce Utthan Samiti, a non-profit organization,working towards serving the underprivileged section of society and providing them with the nec-essary financial and other support to enable them to earn their livelihood and live with dignity. Aspart of our activities, we have also organized blood donation camps and eye donation drives foractive people participation.As you are aware, our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, has launched the

"Swatch Bharat Movement" with the aim to spread awareness and ensure cleanliness of our cities,towns and villages. The movement will cover 4041 statutory towns to clean the streets, roads andinfrastructure of the country. This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of 'Clean India' by 2October 2019, 150th birthday of Mahatma GandhiThe gigantic task cannot be completed without the active participation of individuals, groups

and companies. It is in this context, the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry ofConsumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has urged the voluntary consumer organizations toactively participate in the endeavour of Swachh Bharat Mission and undertake responsibility ofcleanliness of our surroundings and infrastructure.Responding to the need, Utthan has come forward to lend a helping hand to ensure that the

mission is a success. In a bid to fulfil this mission, we are reaching out to corporates, educationalinstitutions, business houses, and individuals to help us collect 240 Ltrs "Garbage Bins" for instal-lation on roadsides so that general public can litter in these garbage bins and we can make ourcountry clean and green. Our aim is to raise at least 5000 "Garbage Bins".It is in this context, I appeal to you to sponsor as many bins as possible. Your act of kindness

will not go un-noticed as you can advertise your company's name and logo's on the bins, which willbe placed at all prominent landmarks of the city.We understand that your company has always walked the extra mile to assist in all noble

Character of the organizationUtthan Samiti is a social organization and a non-profit society. It was founded by the

objective to ensure a "Clean, Green and Healthy India". The organization aims to restorehuman rights and dignity for the underprivileged section of the society, work for the welfare ofthe downtrodden, and also work towards a cleaner, healthier environment. In order to carry out various social programs, it performs many functions including motivation, education, spread of awareness, planning, designing, estimating, implementation, maintenance and follow-up.

Utthan Samiti is funded by itself. It also seeks active participation of corporate houses, businesses and individuals in the form of funds, sponsorship and voluntary work to fulfill its mission.The funds received are spent on the social activity for which the fund is received; run the

organization; and fulfill various welfare schemes run for the poor and down-trodden people ofthe weaker section of the society. Children, youth and the older generation of people who cannot afford proper medical treatment are also helped with the money raised.

Utthan Samiti also spends money on seminars, conferences, on education of the children frompoor families, besides taking up other social projects in order to promote the founding objectivesof the organization. So, Utthan Samiti is a charitable and philanthropic organization trying to fulfill the dream of the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and achieve the Swatch Bharat goals, as envi-sioned by our honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

Our Vision�� A healthy and hygienic India, free of the practice of littering and throwing garbage in the

surroundings; �� Conservation of, environment and heritage through awareness and activism, research and

dissemination; �� To undertake socio-economic measures that will improve the economic condition of the

poor ;�� To involve youth and society effectively in environment conservation activities; �� To practice, the Gandhian principles of the ideal life and environment.�� To protect our natural environment and spread awareness and knowledge on principles,

practices, techniques and methods regarding eco-development and pollution control; to assist the government or any other statutory body or authority operating in the field of conservation.

Our Objectives1. Try to improve and propagate social, moral, cultural, mental, intellectual, characteristic, spiritual, and educational values in Indian public, so that an atmosphere of peace and prosperitymay develop. The Utthan will work beyond castism and religious sentiments, in the interest ofcountry and society.2. To make valuable contribution in the field of education, to propagate education in Indian and for development of education, Utthan will open Primary, Montessori school, High school,Inter college, Libraries and Reading rooms, and also open cultural education center, Adult education center, Artistic education center, Music education center, Technical education and training center. Utthan will manage, conduct and organize the above schools and education cen-ters, shall organize various competitions such as G.K. quiz, Sports, cultural programs etc. in educational institutions.3. For overall improvement of women Utthan will open and established destitute women welfare centers, Nari Niketan centers, Handicrafts centers, children shelter home, sewing, weaving, singingand dancing and computer education center. Utthan will manage, conduct and organize the abovecenters. Utthan will establish and manage free residential and training centers for deserted women,destitute old men and women shall establish and manage old age home and orphanage.

To arouse the feeling of nationalism, national integrity, secularism, and feeling of love and brotherhood cutting across the barriers of caste, colour, creed and religion to restore confidence inall suppressed, oppressed, poor, handicapped, deaf and dumb, and make them self-dependent.5. To organized and promote various cultural activities and to propagate Indian culture and characters of eminent men of Indian society through cultural activities.6. To provide knowledge to the farmers regarding hybrid seeds, fertilizers, plants, etc. forimprovement of agriculture and to provide knowledge of new agriculture techniques and machinery.7. Utthan shall provide economic and moral help and support to suppressed, oppressed and helpless exploited families of the society to raise their standard of life and living.8. To organize free medical camp / fairs with the permission of competent authorities of healthdepartment/ Government, such as eye donation camp, family planning camp, Blood donation camp,polio camp, mother and child welfare camp, Aids control camp, and to manage / organize/ providefree eye operations under the supervision of trained and experienced Senior Doctors, distributionof free medicines and optical etc. to poor people, shall take preventive steps for plague/ epidemicetc.9. To take planning's and programs from Local urban bodies, Rural bodies, S.U.D.A. cell, Districtsocial welfare directorate, central social welfare consultant board, human resource developmentministry, capart, nabard, etc. and establishing/ organizing / managing centers for planning andimplementation of the above programs / schemes.10. Utthan will organize free environmental camps, conventions/ meetings/ seminars/ to keepsocial structure free from pollution and through these programs. Utthan will educate people forplantations and how to make pollution free environments? Provide healthy life to the society. 11. Utthan will propagate its programs and planning's through all publicity media / resources suchas newspapers, news, advertisement, pamphlets, articles, radio, F.M. channels, electronic media,etc.12. To take steps in the direction of providing healthy drinking water to the public and shall provide relief materials at the time of natural calamities such as earth quake, cyclone, flood, disaster, epidemic etc. and shall help those people who are entrapped there.13. To help reduce the morbidity and mortality rate of infants and young children due to diarrheaand help in family welfare programme.14. To undertake health and hygiene promotional activities, including setting up of health -care centers.15. To work for the rehabilitation of the incapacitated and disabled men, women and children.

Substantial areas of workCertain parts of the nation is rich with all its resources and heritage, where in there are certain partswhere people die in hunger.In the freezing winter night of Delhi and the NCR region, when the entire city dons their sweaters,monkey-caps and mufflers with a hot cup of tea, there are hundreds of under-privileged people whocannot afford even a blanket and die - without a roof or cloth on their bare bodies - to add one moreto the count of deaths in North India due to cold wave every year.

Our goal - "Fundamental needs for all.""Everyone in the nation should have atleast their basic needs like food, clothingand shelter."Every year, Utthan Samiti organizes a BlanketDistribution Drive as of part of which theorganization collects funds, buys blankets, anddistributes them in the areas in and around Delhiand the NCR region. For Utthan, it's not aboutchanging the lives of the people but doing some-thing even more basic than that - making themsurvive - enabling them to fight their battle of survival against Mother Nature.

"If we educate one man,It means we educate one woman,It means we educate one family."Utthan Samiti share with you the status of the activitiesdiverting the money spent otherwise on Diwali Gifts tobring some light in the lives of children coming from mostdeprived part of our society. Utthan Samiti coupled it withour ongoing services in the field of Health Care and

Education. During the Diwali celebrations, Utthan Samiti distributed earthen lamps or Diya's tothe under-privileged members of the society. The drive served two purposes - it provided income

to the potters and secondly, helped to brighten up theDiwali celebrations of the poor people. As part of the ini-tiative, 10,000 Diya's were distributed to the poor people residing in Shastri Nagar and Raj Nagar Ghaziabad area.The initiative was also an attempt to support HonorablePrime Minister, Narendra Modi's "Make In India"campaign and ensure that the benefits of the celebrationswent to the people of India, in this case, the potters, toenable them to earn an income and support their families.

Utthan Samiti also distributed sweets, crackers, fruits, diyas, chocolates, etc to poor childrenas well in Leprosarium to brighten up the Diwali celebrations of the less fortunate ones.

Utthan Samiti also donates gifts like crackers, chocolates, candles, diya's, sweets and fruits to poorchildren on the occasion of Diwali, so that they can also enjoy Diwali festival. Utthan Samiti also organized an "Eye Donation Camp" with the aim to spread awareness andencourage people to donate their eyes after their death. The camp also educated people on variouseye diseases and their prevention.

Recognizing the important role women play in the development and progress of society, UtthanSamiti organizes regular "Women Empowerment Camps" with a focus on social, economic andpolitical aspects that can influence their lives. These camps are organized with the aim to raise theirself-esteem and encourage a sense of security. The NGO has also launched a Facebook page initiative, "Nari Shakti of India" to create awareness and seek support for empowerment ofwomen. The activities focus on women's health, education, nutrition and financial management.

blood is not only important for the patient but it sometimes works as life saver drug for the patient.Human Blood can't be replaced by artificial blood. Our NGO regularly organizes "Blood DonationCamps" to encourage people from all walks of life to donate blood for children who are sufferingfrom thalassemia, patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment and patients admitted in varioushospitals around Delhi and the NCR region.

Slum areas are rife with alcoholism,tuberculosis, malnutrition frequentillness and many other diseases.Little or no basic amenities, lack ofawareness and lack of education onhygiene etc. are some of the contributing factors to these majorhealth issues. For the fact, healthcareis a luxury for those who are livingin the slums and can't afford properhealthcare. Many slum areas in andaround Delhi are also facing thispredicament. Utthan Samiti recog-nizes the need for health care and hasthus undertaken regular healthcheck-ups for slum residents by teaming up with doctors and private practitioners. These "HealthCheck-up Camps" include a general health check-up, peak flow test, blood glucose test, hemoglo-bin test and blood group test, free distribution of medicines, etc.

To fulfill our commitment to make our planet a green and clean place, Utthan Samiti alsoorganizes tree plantation drives in and around Delhi and NCR. We conduct Tree PlantationDrive across Delhi and suburbs in housing societies, parks, schools, colleges, open grounds,barren lands and such any other available locations throughout the year, with the help ofindividuals & corporate alliances.

Cleanliness and proper hygiene are universally regarded as indispensable existentialnorms that must inform and permeate all our actions. However, a consciousness in termsof education, demonstration and training needs to be created to ensure that these normsbecome part of a national psyche, at home and outside.Our honorable Prime Minister has visualized a Clean, Green and Healthy India. The PrimeMinister has laid a lot of emphasis on cleanliness. In this direction, he launched theSwachh Bharat Abhiyan. This movement envisages a clean India through participation ofevery Indian. The campaign aims to follow a balanced approach towards persuasion, education, sensitization, training, demonstration and regulation for achieving its goal."Cleanliness is next to Godliness" is an irrefutable statement made by Gandhiji manyyears ago, which is relevant even today in contemporary India. For this social campaignto succeed, it requires all parties, organizations, sections, and layers of the social spectrum to come together. India requires a massive unified attempt to clean up, and this initiative was long due. 'Clean India' is 'Healthy India'. The reprehensible situation of sanitation and hygiene in our country needs to be addressed, and addressed urgently.The cost of being unclean and unhygienic is being paid by everyone. While the poor arethe worst hit by unaffordable medical bills, the middle and upper classes bear the brunt ofcontagious diseases and lowered productivity with their personal health at risk. It is imperative to also assess the cost disease directly to the national exchequer and thro-ughloss to the national GDP.India has always prioritized cleanliness. Responding to the clarion call of our PrimeMinister and also the need of the hour, Utthan Samiti has taken up this initiative as a challenge to ensure that India can relive its core values by adopting a clean lifestyle.Implementation of cleanliness drive in Delhi, N.C.R. and U.P. RegionWe understand that no social movement can ever succeed without the active participationof the people. Utthan Samiti has adopted several regions in Delhi and suburbs and drafted the following plan of action to ensure clean, green and healthy surroundings.� A committee of nine people will be formed for each residential colony in the projected region. All development and cleanliness work will be carried out under the supervision of the committee.� Parks will also be developed for children to play and relax.

Garbage dumps will be cleanedand trees and saplings will be planted to beautify the area. It is in this area that UtthanSamiti has approached several business and corporate houses to seek their active participation in the cleanliness drive. We are reaching out to Corporates, Educational Institutions, Business Houses, andIndividuals to help us collect 240 Ltrs "Garbage Bins" for installation on roadsides so thatgeneral public can litter in these garbage bins and we can make our country clean andgreen.
