APL EASE- The Document Exports:

1. APL eBusiness Login Registration As an on-boarding process, you need to register with us through our APL official Website. Click on the APL Website link www.apl.com and fill in your details for your automatic registration:- Request for new ID Registration will be processed within 48 hours. Kindly furnish the Account Manager’s name in the Request Form. In case you are not aware of your Account Manager (APL Sales handling your account), please insert the caption “Regional Sales Manager” in the Account Representative box. a. 2. Submission of your Booking Request

The APL Website allows you to submit your Bookings for the desired Port pairs that reach us directly for processing further. By submitting your Booking request through you can ensure the same reaches the right Desk for prompt processing. Please ensure you mention your LARA SQ nbr under the Service Contract box at the time of booking submission form, here. This will assist us in prompt processing of your Booking Request. Your Account Manager (APL Sales) will be able to advise you on your LARA SQ nbr.

3. Booking Turn-Around-Time Once the Booking is submitted via APL website, our Booking Desk processes the same and reverts with a response within 2 working hours. The Booking processing cut-off is 17.30hrs Monday to Saturday and bookings received after the cut-off will be processed the next working day.

4. Booking Validity All the Bookings released are valid for 3 calendar days (5 days for East India) from the date of allotment, during which the specified equipment (Container) should be picked up. After the Booking validity lapses, the same will automatically become invalid. Kindly approach our Customer Service Desk for Re-Validation, in case you need the booking to be re-validated. Please do not submit a fresh Booking Request where only re-validation needed.

5. Export Equipment Detention All the Equipment (Containers) picked up for Exports have to be gated-in laden inside the Port, within 10 calendar days from the date of pick up. While Reefer containers, its 7 calendar days from date of Pickup.

If the Equipment (Container) crosses the stipulated free-time for gate-in, a detention charge will be applicable as per the below tariff

8. Shipment Tracking APL’s official Global Website http://www.apl.com provides you an option to Track/Trace your Shipments by Container or BL number. You are kindly requested to keep further Track of your Shipment through our APL Global Web-site : www.apl.com. (Feed the BL number, in Tracking box-on the right hand side)

BL Instructions & Release

1. BL Draft (Shipping Instructions) Submission Please submit your BL Draft (Shipping Instructions) online by logging into the APL e business Login ID & Password on our Global Website at www.apl.com

2. Payments to be made to CMA-CGM Agencies (India) Private Limited Note that all payments will be now made to CMA-CGM Agencies (India) Private Limited

3. Brokerage- APL India will be discontinuing brokerage payments effective 01 February 2019.

4. BL Turn-Around-Time All the Bills of Lading are processed by our Back-Office Centre located at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The BLs are processed and ready for release within 8 working hours from the time of receiving BL Draft (Shipping Instructions). BL processing will commence only after physical gate-in of the Container inside the Port AND due handover of the completed Shipping Documents to our Operations Team. For Shipping Bill Cut-offs, kindly refer Vessel Sailing Schedules & Cut-offs on our Website at – https://www.apl.com/local/india/schedules →(sub-links) Vessel cutoffs→West India / South East India We recommend using Shipping Instructions Template option on the www.apl.com/india and key-in / maintain standard details like Broker Code, Shipper/Consignee details and any other BL data which would reflect in most of your shipments. This will save data input time as well as reduce scope for any typographical errors.

5. Online BL Checking Please view your Bills of Lading online using APL eBusiness under the “View BL” Section of APL eBusiness Login on our APL Global Website

6. BL Amendments Minor typographic corrections in the BL such as punctuations or spelling/typo errors can be requested Over-the-Counter (Documentation Desk), while for any other types of Amendments (like weight, packages, Shipper, Consignee, Marks & Nos., etc.), kindly re-submit the revised BL Draft (Shipping Instructions) online through

APL eBusiness login and notify the changes immediately to Mumbai DOC team [email protected]

Note:-Major BL corrections will be done after payment of BL Amendment charge of USD 120 (after vessel sailing) (subject to current applicable Taxes) NOTE : Amendment turnaround time is 3 hours from receipt of the Correction request

7. Invoicing / Payment Center In the “View BL” Section of APL eBusiness Login, please View/Print the rated copy of the Bills of Lading. Apart from that, each BL released at our Documentation Counter is accompanied with an Invoice for your Accounting purposes. You can also view the Outstanding Invoices towards your Shipments in the “Payment Center” Section of the APL eBusiness Login. 8. Payment Modes Apart from Over-the-Counter Payment facility, we also provide a Secured Payment option via Web using the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) Payment facility. 9. BL Release Modes You can choose to release your Bills of Lading at our Office i.e. Over-the-Counter (Documentation Desk) OR via Electronic Channel (Web/Email) by using our EBL facility. For obtaining the EBL facility, please contact our Customer Service or Documentation Desk for more details. EBL is the most convenient way for your BL Management.

11. Late BL Release Charge All Bills of Lading are required to be released within 7 Calendar days from the Vessel Sailing Date, post which, a Late BL Release Charge will be applicable as per the below tariff subject to current applicable Taxes

To comply with the Public Notice 17/2012, issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Customs (Export), Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch (Export), Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Nhava-Sheva, the ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’ compliance is mandatory for issuance of Booking / Bill of Lading (Exports) and Delivery Order (Imports). Submission will be acknowledged by our Staff, only if all the relevant paperwork is complete, validated and found in order. For Acknowledgement of Receipt, please carry a copy of the Covering Note, which will be signed and stamped by us, to serve as a confirmation. Important to note, that for Export Cargoes, KYC documents for the actual Exporter, Booking Party and Forwarder (where involved) are required, whereas for Imports Cargoes, the Consignee, Forwarder and Clearing Agent will need to be KYC compliant, as per the Carrier’s records. Additionally, the Representative coming to the Counter, for collection of Bill of Lading / Delivery Order, also needs to carry a Photo ID Proof of employment, with the Company, or an Authority Letter, from the Exporter / Importer to collect the Documents, on their behalf.

Please be informed that the Government of India has announced the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) effective from 1st July 2017.

The GST will replace the current indirect tax regime in India and unify various taxes currently levied, into a single tax structure. New regulations and compliance requirements will be put in place accordingly. Please take note of the key points below with regards to the GST implementation in India:

•The GST will be effective from 1st July 2017, applicable to invoicing date and not date of shipment.

•The GST rates applicable for transportation services are: • 5% on freight and freight-related charges • 18% on ancillary charges (Terminal Handling Charges, Inland Haulage Charges, Documentation Fee,

Demurrage & Detention, etc)

•For exports prepaid out of India On freight and related charges, GST will be invoiced by the shipping line to the customer – this is a major change compared to the previous tax structure, as service tax on freight and related charges were rated zero. The other charges will be taxed at 18%.

•For exports collection out of India It would be out of GST purview, being a service provided and received by customers located in non-taxable territory.

•For imports prepaid coming into India On freight and related charges, the customer will directly settle GST to the government, and claim input credit after payment.

•For import collection into India GST will be charged by the shipping line on the customer in India at the respective rates, based on the nature of charges.

The Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN number) is a mandatory requirement when updating or creating Indian customer’s CAP code in CRM.

• Failing which, will result in categorizing ‘unregistered’ customers that leads to potential consequences such as denial of tax credit input.

• In the interim, CMA-CGM Agencies (India) Private Limited will be responsible for updating GSTIN numbers against existing and new CAP codes.
