Introduction

• Buddhist Economics is a spiritual approach to Economics.

• Its understanding aims to clear the confusion between what is truly harmful and beneficial in Economics and ultimately tries to make human beings ethically mature. It tries to find a middle way between a purely mundane society and an immobile conventional society.

Copper problem and local people effect

• The Monywa Copper Project is located in central Burma’s Sagaing Division with four large deposits: Sabetaung, Sabetaung South, Kyisintaung and Letpadaung. The project covers almost 8,000 acres of land, the majority of which was forcibly taken from villagers.

• A Chinese mining company Wan Bao in collaboration with the Burma Army-backed Economic Holdings Ltd.

Economic and unlimited want

• Economic talk about unlimited want basic on business ethic . It is same things as Buddhist economic when they approach to mainstream economic .

• Western ( mainstream ) Economists give importance to maximizing profits and individual gains while the underlying principle of Buddhist Economists is to minimize suffering(losses) for all living or non living things.

Problem of Environmental heritage

• Myanmar faces environmental problems arising from underdevelopment and poverty. It has some problems of deforestation, loss of biological resources, land degradation due to wind and water erosion, urbanization and waste management.

Buddhist economic approach to copper problem

• Right Livelihood" is one of the requirements of the Buddha’s Noble Eightfold Path. It is clear, therefore, that there must be such a thing as Buddhist economics.

• a Buddhist way of life would call for Buddhist economics, just as the modern materialist way of life has brought forth modern economics.
