• The FREE Saturday Street Program was increased this year with more than 50% of the Grantfunding ($6,410) going local artists across 6 music zones playing from 11am – 5pm. We would like toadd more to the Saturday program.

• Increase the street entertainment program on the Sunday: After the success of this year’s Saturdaystreet program which included live music across 6 zones from 11am – 5pm and free kids activities(face painting & balloon twisters), the festival would like to commit the same funds to the Sundayprogram. Based on public feedback, many people would have liked to see more entertainment on theSunday. The festival supported the Westernport Regional Band and the Mornington Youth & CitizensBand along with local buskers on the Sunday. We would love to add World music, indigenous andother Jazz performers to the Sunday program including African Drumming workshop and Puppetry.

• Increase the participation of our local schools: This year we created a School Zone where studentsfrom both Padua College and Peninsula School performed. Next year we propose to increase theparticipation by our local schools with interest from Mornington Secondary, Mornington Park Primaryand St Macartans Primary School. This would be added to the Sunday Street Program.

• The Festival showcased our local Historical Railway by funding 3 music groups to play onboard alltrains on the Sunday. Feedback received from the train’s management: a definite increase invisitation especially on the 11am and the 12.30pm trains. Next year management would like to gofurther with the program (as outlined in the 2018 recommendations). 2019: Increase event programat the Historical Railway: After the success of the 3 music acts up at the railway on the Sunday, theMWMF would like to increase the program further by offering a shuttle taking passengers from MainSt to the train and back again. Two principal bus pick-up stops including Main St and the Esplanadealong with another two stops yet to be finalised.

• Work closer with the Mornington Historical Society: To better develop a program to showcase boththe old Court house venue and the historical walks.

• Work closer with local music network groups: With the goal to assist with the promotion of the eventand our local Mornington Peninsula music groups such as the MP Music Network, BalnarringMuseos and Peninsula Music Society. To raise awareness of our local arts and our local performers.

• Greater exposure for the MWMF: We need greater funds for increased signage and publicity for thefestival. Targeting not only the Peninsula but Melbourne and surrounds through targeted Facebookcampaigns, media print and better signage.

• Run a local Visual / Performing artist Market on the Sunday: We would like to investigate topotential opportunity to showcase more of our local Arts talent by adding to the Sunday program alive Artist Market. Where were could invite local artists to paint, draw etc. We could open this up tothe performing arts including dance schools, the circus school etc.

• Increased promotion of the event throughout the year via our social media channels and MWMFDatabase: Ensuring on-going publicity of Mornington events on the festival Facebook page topromote our local artists, events and venues. I.e. Showcasing the exhibits at the MPRG, events atthe Historical Railway, the historical societies programs and live music in Mornington.

Do you currently have money (partial or otherwise) to fund this project?

Do you plan to seek additional funding sources, i.e. grants, donations, etc.

We are planning to have local sponsorship to the vanue of $6,000 once again
