Story Tips You can write your story in any way you wish. These tips and prompts are designed to help

you draft your story – you do not need to answer all these questions.

To see the range of types of stories that have been submitted by others, check out our

stories page at www.saferoads.com/resources.

It’s usually easier to focus on a particular project or topic, rather than a range of

activities.

Use simple wording and keep the story fairly short and concise.

Describe what prompted you to start your project. Was there a challenge, event,

opportunity, etc. in your community?

What did you do during your project? What were the main activities?

Did you have partners, collaborators, or volunteers? Who helped make your project a

success?

Did you face any barriers or challenges? How did you overcome them?

What was the outcome of your project? For example, how many people attended or

were impacted? What was the community’s response? Were there any unexpected

results or benefits?

What advice would you give others who are doing something similar?
