Religion Religion is derived from the
Latin word religio, which means only "reverence for God or the gods, careful pondering of divine things.

Hinduism The religious beliefs and practices ofthe Indus valley people were similarto present day Hinduism. They had Strict caste system. They believe in Polytheism. Rig Veda is one of their four sacred books

which was spread by the Aryans.

Zoroastrianism
Zarathustra was the founder. He was born in Kazakhstan
and later, moved to Iran.
When the people of Iran didn’t like his teachings, he
moved to Afghanistan where the King and Queen
converted to his religion and made it the official kingdom
of their country.
In 8th century AD, the Zoroasters fled to India in search of
religious freedom, where they came to be called as
“Parsees", which means Persian.

Christianity was introduced in the sub continent by Saint Thomas in 52 AD.
The most famous Christian missionary, St.Francis Xavier, landed in Goa, the west coast of India in 1542.
Christianity spread in the sub continent when the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British arrived.
Prophet Christ is the founder of this religion.

Siddhartha Gautamas was the founder of Buddhism.
He was a prince who left his family and all the luxuries
of his life in search of enlightenment
He hated Hinduism and caste system.
He taught his beliefs to his disciples.
At the age of 35, he attained enlightenment and became
known as Buddha.
After his death, Buddhism continued till 232 AD.
They worship in Stupas.

There is no God except “ALLAH”. Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is his last Prophet. Muslims believes in the previous Prophets of
Allah and the books brought by them. The Five pillars of Islam are Kalma, Namaz, Roza,
Zakat, Hajj. Quran is the last and final book and message of
Allah. A Muslim struggle against the injustice and this
struggle is known as Jihad. This universe will ultimately be destroyed on
“Dooms day” (Qiyamat)
