3. Success

3. Success For this piece, my backing image shows a freeway or motorway leading to the city of Abu Dhabi in the UAE. My chosen word was 'Success'. Abu Dhabi is renown for attracting people due to the wealthy prospects the city promises including a thriving economy and in general way of life. I thought that the word 'Success' encompassed what I was trying to portray overall. I positioned my text so that it sits directly underneath the signs for Abu Dhabi. There are also arrows pointing downwards on the signs pointing directly to my word. I added an Omni light to my text, but gave the word faint shadows as there is no real source of obvious light in the picture. My colour choice for the word was chosen so that it could mainly be read properly in relation to the colours of the background and that it suited the mood of the picture. Despite Abu Dhabi being renown as a haven for the wealthy, the scene depicts a darker day ironically. Therefore to choose a brighter colour looked out of place. The grey colour of the font could perhaps imply that although great things can be expected in the city, there will always be a downside.
