The Success Foundation is proud to partner with District 6 in launching the MaskDistrict 6 Campaign. Our goal is to secure 20,000 masks by July 24, 2020. We are asking for financial support and sewingexpertise through this campaign. We hope to raise $30,000 to purchase 13,000 adult-sized masks and have7,000 child-sized masks made and donated by community members.

Pre-wash your cotton fabric on the warmest settingDry on high heatMeasure and cut 2 identically sized layersmeasuring 5"X7"Measure and cut 1 layer of interfacing measuring5"X7" (use a third piece of fabric if no interfacing)
Turn your project right side out through the 1.5"gap, making sure to pull the elastics outStarting 1" from the top, mark (3) 1" pleats,lengthwise, as if folding a paper fan and securewith pinsStitch around the entire perimeter of the mask,1/4" away from the edge of the seamTake care when stitching over the pleats as fabricmay be quite thick
Pin elastic 1/4" down from each corner and 1/2"from edge to right side of of other piece of fabricBaste both sides to attach elasticPin final layer with right sides facing each other,making sure the elastic loops are folded to theinsideStitch all the way around the perimeter, reinforcingthe seams at the elasticsLeave a 1.5" gap as you approach your startingpoint
