Suffixes When -able and -ible are added to words it generally means

'capable of being'

• able: There are more words ending in -able (about 900)

• -able words usually come from French. We can make new adjectives - networkable, childproofable.

• Ible: than -ible (less than 200).

• -ible words come from Latin. There are no new Latin words!
