•The Suicide Act 1961 brought a change to the law so that suicide is no longer a criminal act.
•However, it is still illegal to 'aid or abet' another person in taking their own life, and anyone who does this may face a maximum 14 years imprisonment.

conclusion conclusion Based on the evidence that we have presented, it shows that suicide in teenagers is on the fall, but it is very common today.
Suicide rates in males has decreased immensely, as they have more pressures to deal with (e.g. getting a good education, peer pressure, trying to make friends) whereas it has stayed average amongst women.
