WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONEWHO’S CONSIDERING SUICIDE?

The emptiness that only worsens with time, drains your strength and takes

your peace and joy... that is normal when we turn away from God or do not

know Him. Someone who thinks of taking his/her life is no different from the

6 billion other people - he/she need a real reason to live, because the

reasons out here aren’t at all convincing.

The writer of the Biblical book Ecclesiastes was the king who ruled in Israel

in its most glorious and peaceful era. He had gold, fine horses, large

expanses of land and the admiration of his people. He was the wisest man

on earth, studied had known and studied philosophy and debated with the

great scholars of his time. He had hundreds of wives and thousands of

servants dedicated to his comfort. And in his book, he says "empty…

everything is empty." He did not believe in the immortality of the soul, he

thought that after the person dies, the soul ceases to exist. And it is this

that makes existence empty and absurd. What’s the point of living and

persevering to do good, if in the end, I'll cease to exist? Everything I have

done will be forgotten.

But this writer was wrong. The soul does not cease to exist after death. Thesoul is immortal. The body may die, but God will resurrect it and the

person’s soul will return to live forever in his body, and the life that she he

will have in eternity will depend on how he lives now.

This life is an arena of suffering where we are called to decide how we will

live in eternity: in the presence of God in eternal happiness or separated

from Him in an eternal hell? Those who receive Jesus Christ, as I showed in

my other response about suicide, will never spend eternity in hell! Faith in

Jesus is the gateway to eternity with God. He is the expression of God

Himself and was with God from the beginning. He left his throne of divinity

and became God-man, lived a sinless life, was tried and judged unfairly and

tortured to death, so that the requirements of the righteousness of God

(which we were unable to meet) were fulfilled in His death. And God raised

him from the dead to confirm that He accepts His sacrifice made on behalf

of those who believe in Him. THE SON OF GOD DID ALL OF IT FOR US.

I think this is the best reason to live. It is far better than money, friendship

and the transient joy of this world! Eternity with the person who loved us

enough to suffer the greatest of sorrows!

And likewise, He commands us to endure the sufferings of this life with

courage and faith in Him and He will give a reward to anyone who does not

quit. The writer Paul says "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present

time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us in

eternity." The salvation of those who believe in God is only the beginning:

God wants to, supernaturally, produce in us the virtues of Christ, so that in

eternity His glory may be revealed to us. This requires suffering,

perseverance and faith. And it produces maturity in this life and glory,

beyond comparison, in eternity. I would not want to give this up for

anything, even though at times I may wish to leave this life and be withGod. But, he still has a lot to do in my life, he has a lot of glory to produce

through suffering.

When the time comes, you will pass from life to another. But let God decide

when. He'll know when you're ready for being in his presence.

So , dont waste the life you have . Get to know God! Read the Bible!

Surround yourself with people who truly love the Lord! Call upon the Lord

about his feelings of death! Cry out, and He will not fail to hear your

humbled heart. I know it! He promised.

Blessings.
