CLUB HONOURS AND CLUB AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE NOMINATIONS Important Message from the President It’s that time of the year when we put in place the process of recognizing and rewarding our outstanding Club members. The Club recognizes its outstanding members through the annual Queenscliff Club Awards of Excellence and through an annual consideration of bestowing club Honors to selected members who have rendered extraordinary service to the Club and Surf Life Saving. There are two types of Club Honors and eight categories of the Club’s annual Awards of Excellence. Club Honors: • Distinguished Service • Life Membership Club Awards of Excellence • Club Person of the Year • Surf Lifesaver of the Year • Young Lifesaver of the Year (U15 -U19) • Patrol Captain of the Year • Surf Sports Athlete of the Year • Young Athlete of the Year (U15 -U19) • Masters Athlete of the Year • Trainer of the Year • Patrol and Patrol Captain of the Year Any member may nominate a member for a Club award. EDUCATION TRAINING AND SKILL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Certif icate This course provides you with the skills to manage resuscitation at an advanced level. As it’s a requirement that each patrol has at least one ARTC member as part of the team, it would ideal if all patrol members held the award. Training for this ward will be done over 3 training sessions starting in April, The course will start on:
Wednesday 14th April 2016 at 6:30pm at Queenscliff Club house.
Training will continue to be on:
Saturday 16th April 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and
Wednesday 21th April 2016 at 6:30pm. With an Assessment on Wednesday 27th April starting at 6:00 pm.
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and application of oxygen, airway management devices, and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious and unconscious breathing casualties. AUSSIES GET TOGETHER and DINNER Tuesday, 19th APRIL 6.30pm This dinner is for members and their families. We have the upstairs area. It is for the whole club - officials, water safety, masters, open, U15's and above, boats, march past etc. We can celebrate the Masters successes and wish the Opens good luck and thank our officials and water safety.

Have a look around your club, there are so many people involved in so many areas - without their help and commitment your club would not function as it does. Each person plays their special and unique role, many go beyond the call and dedicate hundreds of hours working for the club and the community. Our Awards of Excellence night on the 24th of June is where we acknowledge those achievements. Chloe Saxby and Vanishing White Matter Disease Incorporated With your help we can save Chloe Saxby and end this devastating disease for all children. This cure is within reach, but we are in a race against time. All funds raised go to advancing this life saving research for a cure for Vanishing White Matter Disease.
