specific age ranges. Please only register children that are within two months of the listed age range.

Refunds/Transfers: All requests for refunds or transfers must be made 48 hours prior to the first day of the camp and are subject to a $3 service charge. No refunds or transfers will be made after camps begin.

Q: Does the Arvada Center offer care options for all-day campers?

A: Yes. We offer supervised care from 12:00–1:00 p.m., bridging the lunch hour between our morning and afternoon camp sessions and we also offer supervised care after camps end for the day from 4:00–5:00 p.m. Parents should register children, ages 5–14, for each weeklong Lunch Bunch and/or After Camp session at the same time they register for summer camps.

Participating students in Lunch Bunch bring their own sack lunch and will be picked up at their morning camp, supervised over the lunch hour, and escorted to their afternoon camp. Outdoor play and fun activities are included. Participating students in After Camp are picked up from their afternoon camp and escorted to Studio 24B where they may be picked up by parents anytime up to 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration and prepayment is required for each Lunch Bunch and After Camp session. No drop-ins or single day registrations allowed, but parents needing coverage for less than a full week are encouraged to sign up for the week.

Q: Does the Arvada Center provide lunch or snacks for summer camps?

A: No. All day campers need to bring a non-perishable sack lunch and drink each day. Campers do not have access to a refrigerator or microwave. All campers should bring a water bottle for use throughout the day and a healthy snack for each camp they attend.

Q: How do I drop off and pick up my child for summer camps?

A: Parents are responsible for their child’s safe and timely arrival and departure. The Arvada Center requires all children age 12 and under to be escorted to and from studios and signed in and out of camps each day by a parent or other caregiver. Parents have the option of waiving the sign in and out requirements for their child by signing an authorization form on the first day of camps. Children not picked up within 10 minutes after a camp ends, will be placed in our supervised Lunch Bunch or After Camp programs and parents will be charged a daily fee of $15.00 per child.

Q: What if my child has allergies, medical conditions or other special needs?

A: Be sure to fill out all relevant information on our Participant Information and Medical Care Authorization form and discuss any concerns with the camp instructor. The Arvada Center welcomes children with special needs and will provide classroom support for up to two weeks of camp (half days). Please contact the camp director at 720-898-7241 to discuss. If a child is injured, first aid will be administered, and 911 will be called in an emergency.

Q: Are there activities for parents to attend?A. Yes. Most of our weeklong visual arts and drama camps have a

reception on Friday for parents, grandparents, siblings, and others to attend to view artwork and performances. Please check with individual camp instructors for all the details.

Q: Where do I go to view the summer camp art exhibition and when do I need to pick up my child’s art work that is on display?

A. Throughout the summer, artwork from the Center’s visual art camps will be on display. Artwork is on display one week at a time and new artwork is installed on Friday of each week. Artwork from the previous week’s camps should be picked up no later than the following Thursday. Artwork not picked up within a week may be kept for a short time as storage space allows. Please call 720-898-7241 to retrieve artwork left for more than one week. All remaining artwork will become property of the Arvada Center and may be disposed of at the end of the summer. The Arvada Center is not responsible for any misplaced summer camp artwork.

Q: What should my child wear to summer camp?A: We recommend that students wear comfortable clothes like shorts,

t-shirts and sneakers. Some camps such as dance camps have a dress code and many visual arts camps recommend wearing old clothes and bringing a paint shirt. Please read individual class descriptions carefully for required dress code information. Please label any removable clothing (jackets, sweaters, hats, etc.) with your child’s name. During camp, please check studios for lost items. At the end of each week, all lost and found items left in the studios are moved to the box office and any items not claimed by the end of summer are donated to a local charity. The Arvada Center is not responsible for any misplaced items.

Q: What if my child is sick or is unable to attend camp for another reason?

A: If your child misses a day, a phone call to 720-898-7241, is appreciated, but not required. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for any missed days or make up projects your child may miss. Regular attendance is encouraged for all camps, as some projects may span more than one day, but is particularly important for drama camps. All campers are expected to be respectful of each other, camp staff, and Arvada Center equipment and facilities. The Arvada Center will not issue refunds for a child dismissed from a program because of unacceptable behavior.

Q: If I have questions or if I need to get a message to camp staff or my child, who should I call?

A: For general questions and to register for camps, please call our box office at 720-898-7200. The box office can also relay messages to camp staff or your child. For more specific information, please call 720-898-7236 or 720-898-7241.
