WELCOME TO SUMMER AT SACRED HEART 2008! Our unique program offers a variety ofcoeducational courses to meet the recreational and academic needs of students from ages 18 months throughhigh school. All courses are taught by professional educators in a spectacular setting which includes anupdated facility, formal gardens and a 15–acre nature preserve with marked trails, ponds and a marsh.

ABOUT THE CAMP STAFFMeg Butzier is the Director for Summer at Sacred Heart 2008. Meg teaches in the Primary School at theAcademy of the Sacred Heart during the school year, and has 21 years of experience with summerprogramming in the Oakland County area. All of the teaching staff at Summer at Sacred Heart are certifiedteachers, with many years of experience working with children of various ages. The counselors that will assistthe teachers are all hard–working college students that love being with children.

Each week the camperswill enjoy arts and crafts, sports, music, drama, cooking,computers, water play, tennis, and nature classes. Each group of12 campers will have a qualified counselor that will take them toeach of their teacher–directed activities. Campers should bringa labeled bathing suit and towel every day so they can enjoy theoutdoor water fun. They will need a bag lunch and beverage too!

The Academy of the Sacred Heart does not have adequaterefrigeration for campers’ lunches; therefore, non–perishablelunches must be provided for each camper.

What a wonderful way to introduce them to a preschoolsetting. It will also give you a chance to talk to other parents anddiscuss the ups and downs of raising kids! Send your little duck for full or half days, five, three ortwo days a week. Bring a bathing suit. Daily snackis provided. All children must be toilet trained. Campers mayregister for a one to six–week period. Once a week, thecampers will be on a quest for fun by traveling to a water park, thezoo, a movie theater, a bowling alley, a business and otherexciting destinations. They will earn the money to go to thesesites by selling pizza lunches to the entire camp every Friday.Every day the campers will enjoy tennis, archery, arts and crafts,computers, cooking, games, sports, On Stage time to show offtheir talents and some free time to chat with their new friends.Come join us in the quest for fun!

Students should bring a bag lunch and beverage. The Academyof the Sacred Heart does not have adequate refrigeration forcampers’ lunches; therefore, non–perishable lunches must beprovided for each camper.

THE EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM will include games and activities galore, or a place to sit back, relax, and enjoythe summer sun. Afternoon snack is provided. Activities will be directed by certified teachers and support staff as needed.

Registration Terms:• All payments, online and by mail, must be paid in full before the camper starts the Day Camp,

Enrichment Class, Tutor or Extended Day.

Cancellations:• In the event that Summer at Sacred Heart cancels a Day Camp, an Enrichment Class, Extended Day or a

tutor, your entire fee will be refunded.• If 10 days before the start of camp, June 23, 2008, a participant elects to cancel a Day Camp or Tutor, a

full refund less $75.00 processing fee will be given. If less than 10 days, a 50% refund will be given. If10 days before an Enrichment Class or Extended Day a participant elects to cancel, a full refund less15% will be given.

• After the start of a Day Camp, Enrichment Class, Tutor, or Extended Day no refund will be given.• I also understand that there can NOT be any refund if a student is dismissed, sick or withdraws form

Day Camp, an Enrichment Class, Extended Day, or a tutor, once the program has begun.

Consent to Treatment:• In the case of medical emergencies, I understand that every effort will be made to contact parents or

guardians of the camper. In the event that I, the parent, or legal guardian of this applicant isunreachable, I delegate Summer at Sacred Heart the authority and consent to any and all medical,surgical, dental or hospital care or treatment while he/she is a camper at Summer at Sacred Heart. Suchtreatment is to be rendered by, or under the jurisdiction of a duly licensed physician, nurse or dentist.Summer at Sacred Heart is fully authorized to act in accordance with their best judgment in such anemergency and is absolved form any liability or financial responsibility in connection therewith.

• For any medical condition that requires administration of medication and/or medications that will bebrought to the Summer at Sacred Heart campus, a medical form to dispense the medication must befilled out. You may get forms from the office.

Pick–up Authorization:• Campers will be released only to persons authorized by the parents, or legal guardians. If there are any

changes, we require a written note specifying the person permitted to pick up the child.

Declining Application or Dismissal of camper:• Summer at Sacred Heart reserves the right to decline any application and the right to dismiss any camper

as a result of his/her behavior or if in the opinion of the Director, the interests of the camp or thecampers would be best served by this action.

Public Relations Authorization:• I authorize the release of my child’s first name and photograph for use in websites, newspapers,

television and other media for promotion and publicity purposes.
