Concert FAQ

Where at the Nature Center are the concerts? Where should I park?

Concerts are held in the meadow on our performance area in front of the old fireplace, under the shade of

sweetgum and magnolia trees. This location provides easy access to our education center and restrooms and,

of course, Wildcat Creek. Enjoy the show at our picnic tables, in our Adirondack chairs, from our back porch

deck, or bring your own blanket and chairs and set up wherever you’d like. Parking is available at the Nature

Center parking lot and, most conveniently, from directly behind the ball fields of Dunwoody Park. This is a

quick 1-minute walk to the venue.

When are the concerts? How long do they last?

The concerts will be held in our meadow gathering area, located just behind our main education building. All

of our shows begin at 7:00. We try to wrap up by 9:00, but with this lineup of bands, there’s a chance we’ll be

rockin’ a little bit later. Want to get a jump start on the concerts – join us beginning at 6:00 for picnicking,

games, and a rotating selection cold craft beers.

How much does it cost? Do I need a reservation?

Concerts are free to member families (Membership is only $50 per year for a family –

www.dunwoodynature.org/Membership). For non-members, concerts are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and

free for children 3 and under. You don’t need to purchase tickets in advance and can pay as you arrive via

cash, check, or credit card.

Can I bring the whole family?

Of course! Our concerts this summer feature a diverse group of talented musicians who will be jammin’ in the

meadow, but the entire family is always welcome at the Dunwoody Nature Center.

Can I bring my own food?

Absolutely! That’s one of the best things about our concerts. Feel free to pack up the picnic basket and your

blankets and beach chairs. This year, we will also have cold water available as well as craft beer specifically

chosen for each show.

Band biographies, information, and links to music

Pony League – May 6th http://ponyleague.tumblr.com/

Pony League's second album, A Picture Of Your Family, is an exploration of human perseverance in the face of such obstacles as extreme pressure, anxiety and depression, keeping in theme with last year's "Harder Than A Rick Ankiel," which was inspired by the story of a former pitcher-turned-batter for The Atlanta Braves. The resulting 12 songs on A Picture Of Your Family showcase a band who've remained on a constant upward trajectory since their 2014 debut, Fresh Start. While a release date for A Picture Of Your Family has not been set, you can preorder the album now at www.pledgemusic.com/ponyleague and gain access to studio updates and more. A full-length album is in the works with a release date forthcoming, until then, "Harder Than a Rick Ankiel" will serve as a window into the bright future ahead of Pony League.

Lexi Street – May 20th https://www.reverbnation.com/lexistreet

In the get down & deep south, just outside Atlanta, Georgia (pronounced Jaw-jah) is music that will make you

want get up... so you can go get a drink, sit back down to relax with a bourbon in your hand. Street writes

bitter sweet music about love, intimacy and just being human. Influenced by sounds of Lily Allen, Johnny Cash,

Chris Isaak and the XX. Their latest project titled Fù Fù. Currently working on two new singles in the studio to

be released Spring 2017.

Thin Ice – July 15th - https://www.reverbnation.com/thiniceband

THIN ICE is a professional high-energy 4-piece rock band that has been together since 2004. We've played at

many great venues like Wild Wing Cafe, 37 Main, Jeffrey's, Craze Tavern, Loco's and more over the years. We

strive to play great hit songs the way they should be played; with great lead/harmony vocals, accurate solos

and as close to the original song's sound as possible. We also go from one song to another in 3 to 4 song

blocks so you can keep jamming and dancing.

Playing a unique blend of modern, classic and party/dance rock from the 70's to today, THIN ICE can tailor its

set list to suit your club, party and attendees or we can just "put it on shuffle" and play a variety. With THIN

ICE you'll have a great time rocking out and dancing with your friends listening to all your old and new

favorites.
