It is always amazing to see the kindof dedication to organized dentistry giv-en by our members. Whether they serveon IDDS or IDA Committees, help withevents and projects, or give freely of theirfinancial resources, it is wonderful towatch.

We have had numerous eventsalready this year: Leadership Reception,Networking Seminar, Women DentistsSeminar, Ethics, Spring GeneralMembership Meeting, and most recently,the IDDS Foundation’s Vintage Evening. All of these were successful and enjoyedby those attending. I personally wouldlike to thank Carolyn and Paige for mak-ing these events happen.

The IDA Annual Session will see

several proposed resolutions related toterm limits and redistricting. That willrequire a concentrated effort on behalfof the entire delegation to discuss whatis best for the future of organized den-tistry. Membership is decreasing nation-wide, and we need to find a way to keepour organization moving forward tomeet the challenges that will be faced by

future generations.Please join us on July 13 for theFoundation’s Golf Tournament. We havea dedicated group of golfers who playannually, and the $1,000 prize gener-ously donated by First Merchants Bankis just icing on the cake.

I invite you to my President’s Fall Workshop to be held on Thursday,September 15 at The Garrison Center.Speaker will be IDDS President-Elect,

Dr. Matt Bojrab who has an excellentpresentation on “Stem Cells in Dentistry”that will make for an enlightened discussion.

Dental Research Professorship. This is thefirst research professorship for pediatricdentistry at Indiana University.
