Students should bring their own peanut-free snack and a donation as suggested below. You may participate in as many projects as you would like, but register soon. These classes fi ll quickly.

Attendance If a student is not able to attend a Summer Program class on any given day, please call to inform the Summer Program Administrative Assistant at (262)783-3200. Student safety is a high priority and notifying the school of an absence will prevent unnecessary searching for students and making phone calls home.

Before & After Care A day care program, called Narnia, is available on our campus June 5 – 30 and July 10 – August 11 from 7:30 am to 9:00 am and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Advance registration is required. Students who arrive for class before 8:45 am will be registered into the Narnia program, and the family will be billed for the service. Also, any child not picked up by 3:45 pm will be enrolled in the Narnia program. Payment is due at time of pick-up, or the family will be charged for the service. Our Narnia program will take place in Patriots Hall from June 5 – 30 and July 10 – July 21. Our Narnia program will take place in Constitution Hall from July 24 – August 11. To reach the Narnia supervisor, please call (262)783-3200 during school hours. Before/after school hours, please call (262)853-7773.

Behavior We expect each student to contribute to the safe and supportive learning environment established at Brookfi eld Academy. Any inappropriate behavior will necessitate a private conference with the participant and, when necessary, with his or her parent. If a solution cannot be reached, the student will be required to withdraw from the Summer Program without a refund.

Credit Classes Credit classes, taught by Brookfi eld Academy Upper School or collegiate level faculty, are available for Brookfi eld Academy credit. These credit classes may be eligible for credit at other high schools. Some credit classes may be eligible for college credit. Please contact Julie D’Arruda for more information.

Dependent Care Expenses Payment(s) for before and after-program care, as well as many of the summer camp and course offerings, may be eligible dependent care expenses for tax purposes. Parents are advised to review their own

employer-sponsored benefi t plan descriptions and enrollment material for specifi c information or to consult with their personal tax advisor.

Dress Dress is casual. Please dress appropriately for athletic camps. It is important for students to wear appropriate shoes.

Enrollment Procedures To enroll a participant in a program, complete the registration form, including the liability release, and return with course fees to Brookfi eld Academy. Full payment is due with the registration. Class spots cannot be reserved for those not paid in full. Most class sizes are limited; sign up early to guarantee a spot. All registrations will be confi rmed shortly after the registration form is processed. Brookfi eld Academy will accept cash or check with a completed registration form. Or, families may register online with a credit card payment using VISA or Mastercard. Register online at: brookfi eldacademy.org/academics/summer-days-program. Register students for the grade level they will enter in Fall 2017.

First Day Procedures For Sessions I – IV, students should check in at Patriots Hall before reporting directly to the location of their fi rst class or athletic clinic. For Sessions V – VII, students should report directly to Constitution Hall. Summer Days t-shirts will be handed out at this time. Discovery Camp participants should always go directly to Constitution Hall to receive their t-shirt and check in with the teacher. Classroom locations will be posted in each building. As a convenience, staff members will be available in hallways to help students fi nd classrooms.

Illness Brookfi eld Academy has the right to call parents and ask that their child be picked up from classes due to an illness. Refunds will not be issued based on missed classes due to illness.

Insurance Brookfi eld Academy does not carry medical or hospital insurance for an injury or illness a participant may sustain in our Summer Program. Parents of children participating in Brookfi eld Academy-sponsored activities must provide their own insurance and assume the risks of all injuries or accidents.

Keep at Home Please do not bring any items from home, such as games, toys, electronics, or trading cards, unless instructed to do so by a teacher. Cell phones must remain off and in student backpacks during the times of a class or camp. Brookfi eld Academy is not responsible for any lost or broken items.

Lunch & Snacks Hot lunch program is available; see pages 1 & 40. Otherwise, students need to bring their own bag lunches, utensils, and snacks. Vending machines and microwaves are available for use in Patriots Hall. All drinks must remain in the cafeteria at all times. If a student stays for all day or for the after-care in our Narnia program, please provide an extra snack and/or drink for your child.

Pick Up/ Drop Off Please drop off and pick up students next to the sidewalk curb. Pull up all the way to the end of the sidewalk to alleviate back-ups. For safety, students are instructed to remain curbside, with an assistant, until their vehicle arrives. Please refrain from dropping off students before 8:45 am (unless enrolled in the Narnia program) as teachers and coaches are not available for supervision until that time. If students do arrive before 8:45 am or are picked up after 3:45 pm, they will be signed into our Narnia program and a bill will be sent home to the family for the Narnia supervision time. Narnia is located in Patriots Hall for Sessions I – IV and in Constitution Hall for Sessions V and VII. Brookfi eld Academy is not liable for the safety of students who are dropped off outside of Summer Program hours of operation. If a student rides a bike or walks to and from the Summer Program, please provide signed parental permission in writing to the Summer Program Director.

Prerequisite Academic Courses If a student wishes to enroll in a course in which he or she does not meet the stated prerequisites, the student must receive approval from the Summer Program Director to register. The course instructor reserves the right to call for a class transfer if the student is not acclimating well into the class. There are no refunds, and a $10 transfer fee applies.

Rain Outside athletic clinics may move to an inside location on heavy rain days or stormy days. Please call the school offi ce before arriving to fi nd out the indoor location. If storms are predicted in the weather forecast, send an umbrella along with your student in the event they may need to walk to an indoor facility. All students will be walked or driven by BA staff.

Refund/Change Class Policy Brookfi eld Academy reserves the right to close classes with full enrollment and to cancel classes with insuffi cient enrollment. In the event a class is canceled by the school, participants will receive a full refund. Families who voluntarily withdraw from the program one week or more before the class start date will receive a full refund. Withdrawals within one week of the class start date will receive a full refund less a $50 administrative fee. The $50 administrative fee may be applied to another Summer Program offering. If a student voluntarily withdraws after the fi rst day of the class start date, no refund will be issued. There is no pro-rated adjustment of class and camp fees based on the number of days attended. There is a $10 fee to change a class or camp after the fi rst day of the course start date.

Transportation In the event of inclement weather or off-campus classes, BA staff or contracted school bus will transport students as needed. A transportation liability waiver will be required to be signed by each parent.
