Principal’s Message
Dear St. Cecilia Parents,
I am quite excited to be working with your children and their teachers as we strive to achieve excellence with Christ by our side.
The new school year will bring many triumphs and challenges and together we will navigate through whatever comes our way. It is
this collaborative spirit I am looking forward to most. In the meantime I would like to leave you with inspirational words by Henry
James: “Summer afternoon, summer afternoon ; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English sum-
mer”. I wish you and your children, our students, a safe and enjoyable summer filled with much play, creativity and quiet, restful
summer afternoons.
God bless,
N.P. Biagini

2015/2016 CSPC (Catholic School Parent Council) AGM - September 2015
Our parent council AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held September 22, 2015. Everyone is welcome!
At this meeting our parent council Executive is elected and our parent council voting members are voted in. You do not have to be a voting mem-
ber in order to actively contribute to parent council activities/events, attend meetings or participate on committees.
Please look for detailed information from our Elections Committee in early September regarding the meeting, nomination and election processes.
Parent Committees Every school year we establish a number of parent council committees. They serve to engage and empower interested parents who wish to con-
tribute to the student experience at St. Cecilia. These committees, comprised of volunteer parents, play an integral role in enhancing achievement
for all students and fulfilling the advisory responsibility of the parent community.
For more information regarding CSPC committees just send us an email with your questions and we will get back to
you: [email protected]

Grade 5 Students at the McMichael Art Gallery
On June 9, 2015, the grade 5 students traveled to McMichael Canadian
Collection. There they learned about the 7 Professional Native Indian Art
and the different styles of the artists. They also learned about landscape
painting through the work of The Group of Seven artists and participated
in a workshop about interesting approaches to landscape painting and cre-
ated their own landscapes. Finally, they learned how the birch bark canoe
is built and how they work. Pedro's favourite activity was how the paint-
ings were all painted differently. Kuba enjoyed learning about the textur-
ing during the workshop. Everyone enjoyed the trip!
