At the heart of the Scottish Borders, 18th century Paxton House sits in stunning grounds overlooking the River Tweed. This year’s 9-day programme performed in the magnificent Picture Gallery features: • Brilliant Scottish pianist Steven Osborne playing Debussy • Tenor James Gilchrist singing Schubert’s ‘Winterreise’ • FREE pre-festival Sunday afternoon concerts • The Maxwell Quartet and Imogen Cooper playing Dvořák’s Piano Quintet
In special events for the Scottish Borders, the history of Paxton House and the famous Union Chain Bridge are celebrated by the Brook Street Band, lutenist Alex McCartney, and Concerto Caledonia, and there will be a masterclass, online talks, folk music, a family concert in Kelso and – new for 2021 – fun music sessions for babies and toddlers!
