Corcoran Arts: Graphic Design Power, Influence & the News: Understanding Media Principles of International Law Rise of the Machines: Introduction to Computer Science Startups, Think Tanks & Incubators SESSION III (July 31-August 12) Biomedical Engineering: Identifying Medical Problems & Developing Solutions Election Politics: Building a Campaign Going Pro: Introduction to Sports Management Introduction to Medicine Corcoran Arts: Painting & Drawing The Politics of Food Participants will also enroll in the College Success Series, programs that introduce students to U.S. higher education. Students will have the opportunity to learn about different types of higher education options, admission requirements and strategies, majors and career advising and the student and university experience. AN AMERICAN UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCEStudents will reside at the beautiful, gated Mount Vernon Campus, which is nestled among 23 wooded acres in residential northwest DC. Surrounded by private residences and embassies, the Mount Vernon Campus is located 10 minutes from downtown and is linked by a regular shuttle service to the Foggy Bottom Campus.

Residence halls are staffed by full-time program assistants who help students integrate into GW by providing engaging social programs. These include recreational activities and sporting events, site visits to cultural and international institutions and day trips to nearby historic sites. Students have full access to university facilities, libraries, fitness centers, computer labs and student health services. Room and board is included in program costs. GW’s campus is safe and staffed by the GW Police Department, which routinely patrols the campus and resident halls.

ADMISSIONAdmission is competitive and based on the strength of your academic record and personal profile, as indicated by academic transcripts, a recommendation and a statement of interest. In addition, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through submission of a TOEFL, IELTs or other GW-approved test. Students requesting an F1 visa will be required to submit proof of funding. Space for this program is limited. Early application is recommended.
