reading buddies Little BuddiesFor grades 1-3. Primary grade students are paired with middle school volunteers (see below) who practice reading together and enjoy reading-based games and activities. Readers of all levels are welcome. Wednesdays, June 12, 19 and 26; July 3, 10 and 17, 2-3 p.m. Limit 20.

Reading Buddies VolunteersFor grades 5-8. Share your love of learning with new readers! Reading Buddies volunteers are paired with a new reader for book sharing and fun, reading-based activities and games. Volunteers must complete an orientation session on Wednesday, June 12 at 1 p.m., before Reading Buddies begins.Regular meeting time: Wednesdays, June 12, 19 and 26; July 3, 10 and 17, 2-3 p.m. Limit 20.

Registration is required for all library programs unless otherwise stated.

kids cafÉ Free Summer Lunches @ Your LibraryThe Northlake Library will once again participate in Kids Café, a summer food program sponsored by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Meals are funded by the Summer Food Service Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the program is administered by the Illinois State Board of Education. Lunch is provided at no cost to all children up to age 18.Monday–Friday, June 10–July 19, 12–1 p.m.*Please note, no lunch on July 12 due to fi eld trip.
