YOUTH PROGRAMS Private Swim Lessons This is for participants who only want to sign up for a package of five 30 minute private lessons. A private lesson is one instructor with one participant. Please fill out a private lesson request for upon registering for any private lessons. Private lesson request forms should be turned into Anna Koperski, Aquatics Coordinator at the High Ridge YMCA at [email protected]. If you have any questions feel free to contact Anna at 773/326.2920.Semi-Private Swim Lessons This is for participants who only want to sign up for a single 30 minute semi-private lesson. A semi-private lesson is one instructor with two or three participants. Please fill out a private lesson request for upon registering for any private lessons. If you have any questions feel free to contact Anna at 773/326.2920.Synchronized Swimming Synchronized swimming challenges the creativity of swimmers by combining the movements of dance with swimming skills. Students work to improve stroke, form and endurance while gaining confidence and poise. Swimmers may participate in performances and competitions. Prerequisite: Fish level or above.Y.E.S. Splashball Played with two nets and a ball, water polo is the oldest Olympic sport! The class will teach the skills, rules, and techniques of water polo. Water polo is a great way to stay fit while having fun in the water. Participants must be Guppy level or higher.Circle Of Friends Bring your little one every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to Circle of Friends, where he or she will learn to play with other children and have fun by exploring activities. This program will include playing circle games, singing songs, dancing and story time.Parents Night Out Parents Night Out will give you peace of mind knowing your children are in a supervised, structured environment while you run errands or catch up with friends. Your kids will have fun playing games and sports, creating art, watching movies and making new friends. Dinner will be served.YES Super Scientists Hey super scientists! Are you ready to explore? Learn and participate in a variety of hand on science projects that will spark your imagination. Projects change weekly.Seido Karate Seido Karate is a traditional Japanese style of karate, formed in 1976 by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, and headquartered in New York City. The word Seido means the Sincere Way and Seido Karate is an effective Mind, Body, Spirit practice. The three fundamental principles are: respect, love, and obedience. Mission: Training in Seido Juku Karate develops respect, discipline, self-confidence, ‘non-quitting spirit’, self-defense, fitness and emphasizes the importance of service in one’s community through traditional Japanese karate training. Students develop through a system that promotes self and community development, not emphasizing tournaments and trophies.Y.E.S Youth Basketball Skills “Does your youngest want to play basketball? This class is designed to develop and test the fundamental basketball skills of your child. We cover rules of the game, basketball terms, best ways to score and more!”Ballet Bring your little ballerina to the Y to begin their dancing experience. Dancers will focus on body awareness and movement. Your little ballerina will learn the fundamentals of leaps, posture and six positions even Joeffrey Prima Ballerinas have to start with.YES Outrageous Artists Create and explore a variety of different art media, including: collage, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, working with clay and photography.
