This festival is a merger of two great events, the Downtown Martinez Italian Street Painting Festival

and San Francisco’s Polk Street Blues Festival.

The event features amazing Blues music on two stages, arts and crafts exhibitors, gourmet food

booths, local restaurants, community booths, hands on kids activities and rides, a farmers’ market, bistro

style seating areas, craft beer and fine wines, and street painting artists that will create spectacular chalk

art with an area for kids to create their designs and have some creative fun.

August 2 - MoFo Party Band

The MoFo Party Band has come a long way from

their Central California beginnings, thrilling audi-

ences worldwide in venues of all sizes. The band has

shared the stage with blues legends BB King, James

Cotton, Little Milton, Bo Diddley, Los Lobos, Huey

Lewis, Tommy Castro and many others. Food Vendor:

August 16 - The Groove Doctors

The Groove Doctors are a fantastic dance party band

that has been playing together since 2000. People of

all ages are sure to get up and dance to Disco/Funk,

August 30 - East Bay Mudd

The Bay Area’s number one entertainment is East

Bay Mudd. This dynamic band has been thrilling au-

September 6 - The Big Jangle

This Bay Area band is dedicated to playing all

things Tom Petty and the songs he covers live, by

The Traveling Wilburys, The Byrds and Stevie Nicks.

America’s original female rock electric string

quartet, based in Las Vegas and performing live

all over the world. At the core of their music is a

lifetime of classical training, real musicianship,

and respect for the 400-year-old art form that

is the string quartet. At the forefront of their

stage performance is stunning beauty, rockin’

guitar-pedal artistry, groovy improvisation, and

some good old Las Vegas flair.

July 23 - Anderson & Roe Piano Duo

Known for their adrenalized performances,

original compositions and notorious music

videos, GREG ANDERSON and ELIZABETH JOY

ROE are revolutionizing the piano duo experience

for the 21st century. Their recent album When

Words Fade was released to critical acclaim in

2012 and spent over a dozen weeks at the top of

the Billboard Classical Charts. Their Emmy

nominated, self-produced music videos have

been viewed by millions on YouTube.

July 30 - Mic Gillette Band

Original songs mixed with rock and country

tunes, with their own style and finesse, from the

50s, 60s and 70s . Mic Gillette is the world-re-

nowned trumpet and trombone player who has

appeared on countless CDs and record albums,

spanning five decades, for some of the big-

gest names in the business, including a dozen

members of the Rock and Ross Hall of Fame.

After touring for many years with Tower of Power

he decided to settle down with his family. He

has since began a program called, “Music in the

Schools” to help struggling music programs na-

tionwide to keep their doors open. He continues

to teach, record, arrange and play live gigs in

Northern California with the Mic Gillette Band.

The Walnut Festival is a four-day festival with family-friendly entertainment, two stages of live music, a large carnival with more than 30 rides and 40 vendors, exciting games, food and beverages and a Spe-cialty Beer Garden. On Saturday and Sunday there will be free fishing for kids in the Heather Farms lake from 7 - 11am.
