David Amadoconductor
David Amado has been Music Director of the Delaware Symphony
Orchestra since 2003, and in July 2016, he began a second music
directorship at the Atlantic Classical Orchestra in Florida. As a
guest conductor, he has led numerous prominent orchestras. In
addition to the St. Louis Symphony, where he served as associate
conductor from 2001 to 2004, he has guest conducted The
Philadelphia Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, Rochester
Philharmonic, and the Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Milwaukee, National, New World, and
Toronto symphony orchestras. In April 2018, he will guest conduct the New Haven Symphony
Orchestra. Amado began his musical training in piano, studying in The Juilliard School’s
pre-college and college divisions before going on to Indiana University, where he received
a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting. He pursued further conducting studies at
Juilliard with Otto-Werner Mueller.
Dale Yoonho Jeongcello (2017 TSYO Concerto Competition Winner)
Born in 2002, Dale Jeong is a 15-year old cellist who is in his
fourth year at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for
Young Artists at The Royal Conservatory. He is a scholarship
student at the Academy and is currently in the studio of David
Hetherington. He has been a member of the Toronto Symphony
Youth Orchestra (TSYO) since 2015.
Dale has participated in numerous competitions such as the Kiwanis Music Festival and the
Canadian Music Competition. He was the Grand Prize winner of the Oakville Chamber
Orchestra (OCO) Concerto Competition, and will be playing with the OCO in May 2018. In
June, he won first prize at the Ontario Music Festivals Association’s 2017 Provincial Finals
Competition for the Strings Diploma level. Dale currently plays on a cello made by Guy Harrison.
Jean-Paul Feotreble
With a passion for music and gifted with perfect pitch, Jean-Paul
started playing keyboard at age two. While he enjoyed playing by
ear, receiving piano lessons and singing with the Toronto Children’s
Chorus widened his musical horizons. He now attends St. Michael’s
Choir School and sings with the senior choir at the noon Mass
at the cathedral. This year, in grade seven, he has started formal
organ lessons at the school. Jean-Paul’s musical tastes are varied, and he enjoys Baroque,
Classical, and liturgical music as well as the music of Ludovico Einaudi and computer game
music. After a gig, Jean-Paul likes to eat at Fran’s.

Tha Spot Holiday Dancers
Toronto choreographer Chantelle Fernandes, assisted
by Tiffany Leonardo, is thrilled to put her talent to work
again for today’s performance. She brings a long list of
credits in film (Hairspray, Honey), television (The Listener,
Pop It!), music videos (Cascada, Danny Fernandes), and
commercials (Mattel, Zantac), including choreographing
performances for the 2011 New Year’s Eve bash at Nathan
Phillips Square, as well as various live events with her
husband, pop artist Shawn Desman. She has assembled
some of Toronto’s brightest young rising stars for another
performance with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO). All of these young dancers are
excited to have another opportunity to perform at Roy Thomson Hall with the TSO to add to
their quickly growing performance resumes, some of which include Shawn Desman’s music
video “Nobody does it like”. Having received their dance training from Tha Spot Dance Centre
in Toronto, they hope that you will be seeing them on many more stages for years to come.
