Snoop Filter Overview

> Snoop Filter helps lower FSB utilization and improves FSB headroom> Snoop Filter (SF) is a cache-tag structure stored in the chipset

– Keeps track of the status of cache lines in the processor caches– Contains only TAGs and status of cache lines and NOT the data– Filters all unnecessary snoops to the remote bus
