“Everything I learned was in the Navy,” Jerrold says. Jerrold served four years of active duty and eight years in reserve. When Jerrold returned home, he began to work as a service technician for Mountain Fuel (Questar Gas Co.) from which he retired years later. He enjoyed his job and was quite good at it. His neighbors and friends knew him as a guy who can fix it all when it came to mechanics. He takes pride in his accomplishments in his career. Jerrold met his wife Beatrice when his mother introduced the two of them. Beatrice was a beautician, who worked with Jerrold’s mother. Jerrold and Beatrice dated for four months and were married in Wendover, NV. Jerrold and Beatrice moved to Bountiful, Utah, and together they raised four children: Crag Richard, Gordon Jay, Douglas Ray and Lory Ann. Jerrold has eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jerrold is a man of many interests. He enjoys outdoors and is an excellent hunter and a fisher-man. He loves riding motorcycles. Jerrold has modified his Harley Davison to take road trips with his wife and his two dogs and traveled throughout the country. He also likes building machines. He has built one of the first racing cars for the Fair Ground races, and even raced a little bit himself. Jerrold is a kind and friendly person with great sense of humor. Throughout his life, he has helped many people and has made many friends. Thank you, Jerrod, for being a kind and friendly person you are. We are lucky to have you here at Golden Living.
Jerrold Hansen was born and raised in Cas-tle Dale, Utah. Being the oldest child, he grew up with his three brothers and one sister on a family farm. His father, LaMarr, was a carpen-ter, and his mother, Verda, was a beautician. From his young age, he has learned the value of hard work helping his parents on a family farm. When Jerrold turned 17, he decided to leave his family home to join the U.S. Navy. He has served on a ship in Tokyo, Japan and on a sub-marine during Korean Conflict. Serving in the Navy, though wasn’t easy, it prepared him for his future career in engine mechanics, and made him the man he is today.
