SUNDAY: 22 JANUARY: 3RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, Today in his letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul urges us to unity in Christ. We are in the middle of the week of prayer for Chris-tian unity during which we pray that all divisions among Christians may disappear. This is the 500th anniversary year of the Protestant Reformation. Hopefully through prayer and dialogue this division will cease and we can all be united around the table of the Lord. With our new president in place, let us pray for blessings upon his administration and for peace and justice for all. Today, Sunday we have our prolife walk after the 10:30 Mass at Queen of All Saints all the way to Sacred Heart Church. Senator El-bert Guillory will give a talk. Please come out and show your support for the unborn. In addition, Monday is the day of prayer and pen-ance for the legal protection of the unborn children. Over 50 million abortions since the Roe v. Wade decision is our American holocaust. The lady who had the medical emergency at the 5:00pm Mass last Sunday is doing well at this point. Thanks to all who helped her during this episode and for everyone who prayed. She was very grateful. In filling out the application for the ACTS retreat for men, please make your checks out to Sacred Heart Church. There was a mistake on one side of the registration form. Sorry for the inconve-nience. The retreat is March 16-19. From now on our monthly Holy Hour will be on the first Thursday of the month from 5:30pm -6:30pm unless otherwise noted. In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic movement we will start a Charismatic meeting on the first Thursday of the month starting in February right after the Holy Hour in the meeting room. All are welcome to attend. It should begin around 6:30pm. The 2017-2018 Sacred Heart School Registration will begin on February 1st through February 20th. Little Jonnie went on his way walking to church, with a dollar in each hand, when all of sudden he dropped one and it fell right down into a sewer drain. Little Jonnie looked down but couldn’t see where it had gone. He got up, brushed off his pant knees, and said, “Sorry, Lord, I just lost your dollar.”
