Working together to spread the Gospel Saint Wendelin Luxemburg Holy Cross – Pearl Lake (Marty) Mary of the Immaculate Conception Rockville Sunday Bulletin Palm Sunday March 20, 2016 From Safari We embark this week on the holiest of our Christian days. The Three Days, this Easter Triduum (Latin for “three days”), is the center, the core of the entire year for Christians. These days mark the mystery around which our entire lives are played out. In these days we will once again, with renewed focus, remember the pas- sion, death, and resurrec- tion of Jesus Christ and we are also challenged toward a personal share in the passion of Jesus Christ. I invite you to enter these days as fully as you can. Try to make this time as free from social engagements and enter- tainment as possible. Plan simple meals. Come gather around the Eucharistic table, 6:00pm, on Monday, Tues- day, and Wednesday evenings. Consider extending the fast and abstinence of Good Friday through Holy Saturday, so that we can come to the Easter Vigil hungry and full of excitement, parched and longing to feel the sacred water of the font on our skin. This paring down of our normal hectic schedules allows us more time for prayer and reflection. It is important that the Three Days be seen not as a series of liturgies distinct from one another but as one movement. May these Three Days enkindle your faith and find you rejoicing in the great love of God. Fr. Ron SCHOOL NEWS AND HAPPENINGS Holy Cross Holy Cross School has once again been blessed! SCHOOL NEWS AND HAPPENINGS

Holy Cross Holy Cross School has once again been blessed! First, thank you to everyone who purchased Catholic United Financial

Raffle Tickets from the families at Holy Cross. Because our families

sold so many tickets, the school won a $3,000 grant from Catholic United

Financial. That means that not only did we sell over $11,000 in tickets,

we get another $3,000!

Our next blessing came in the form of beautiful weather last Saturday! A

big THANK YOU to Rudy & the Pearl Lake Lodge for hosting the

parade and hamburger stand last weekend. We sold all of the hamburgers

and brats that we had! Success! Thank you to Larry & Helen Krippner

and Family for sweeping the streets Sunday morning. Thank You also to

the school families who worked the food stands and came back to clean

up on Sunday morning. 10,000 people in town makes for quite a mess!

Next Up: we celebrate Easter! The students will take part in the Seder

Meal this Tuesday.

ONE MORE THING: PLEASE PRAY FOR ST. MARY’S PARISH AND

SCHOOL IN MELROSE.

Hello from Sister Marius...On Monday we delighted in welcoming Sis-

ter Marius back; she came to do a couple art projects with our 6th grad-

ers. It’s always so good to see her; seemed almost like she never left.

Did You See the Invitation for our April 30th Springtime in Paris

Night? We hope you’ll be able to attend. Please mark this on your calen-

dar and help spread the word. Tickets are $35 per person. Please send

your RSVP (by March 30th) along with payment to St. Wendelin School,

jects big or small, we can hook you up with Menards, Home Depot or

Fleet Farm for whatever you need. Just stop in and see Lynn or call her at

lem on Palm Sunday (which begins Holy Week), he did so humbly on a

lowly donkey. He came not to glorify himself but to bring His Father’s

message of love and service. Our challenge is to let that message shine

thru us in our daily lives.

Thank you to Annaliese Mohs for her piano solo.

Ham Stamps...Just another reminder if you have Coborn’s ham stamps

you are not using, our lunch program would be happy to have them.

Please be aware we do need the entire receipt.

We Wish Each and Everyone...a rich, meaningful and blessed celebra-

tion of Holy Week ! Feel free to join us tomorrow, Monday, March 21 at

Holy Week Notes

Those on for serving Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, please come at

least 20 minutes before service time to go thru procedures.

Adoration...There will be no regular Monday adoration at HC or Thursday adoration at

MIC or SW but adoration will take place in each of our parishes following Holy Thurs-

day evening services. Please note closing times in the Liturgical schedule on page 3. On

this day when we celebrate the institution of the priesthood and the Eucharist, it would

be most fitting to spend time with Jesus thanking Him for these special gifts and for His

passion and death on our behalf.

Good Friday, March 25 ...is a day of fast (one full meal, 2 smaller ones, nothing in be-

tween for ages 18-59) and abstinence (no meat 14 and over).

Please Keep in Prayer our RCIA candidates Colin Campbell and Kim Steichen who

will be received into our faith communities on Easter Sunday, 10:30am, at Holy Cross.

Blessing of Easter Food ...at SW and MIC during our Holy Saturday and Easter Sun-

day services. Just place your items to be blessed on the table in the church front.

Resurrection Parties...Celebrate the joy of Jesus’ Resurrection at the wine and cheese

socials on Saturday evening , March 26, at both MIC and SW immediately following the

Easter vigil services. It’s a great time to mingle and visit with parish friends/family as we

come together to proclaim the awesome news, “He is Risen”!!!

Special Collections This Week

Operation Rice Bowl on Holy Thurs.

Holy Land on Good Friday

March Campaign of Minnesota Food Share...As our campaign continues this month, it’s

gratifying to see food donations “growing” in the collection boxes in each of our churches.

Donations will be accepted through March 29th. Blessings to all who’ve taken part with gifts

of food or will take part in this weekend’s 2nd collections with a cash gift. As a statement

from Minnesota FoodShare says “It is through your dedication, hard work and support that

food shelves in your community are able to raise the funds and food needed to keep the doors

open and lights on year after year”.

THANK YOU FOR CARING AND SHARING AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE!!!

Divine Mercy Sunday...is April 3rd. This year our cluster parishes along with the parishes

from Cold Spring, Richmond, Jacobs Prairie and St. Martin are working together to host a

Divine Mercy celebration at MIC on Sun., April 3 beginning at 1:30 pm. Afternoon will in-

clude prayer/adoration, talk by Fr. Ron, song and Benediction. It will conclude with soup/

sandwiches/bars and fellowship. See bulletin insert for more details.

Although the concept of Divine Mercy goes back a long time, the devotion has grown rap-

idly since Pope John Paul II, on April 30, 2000, designated the first Sunday after Easter each

year as Divine Mercy Sunday. The feast is all about TRUST in Jesus with an emphasis on

His mercy and is preceded by a nine day novena (different groups remembered each day)

which begins on Good Friday. Novena pamphlets will be distributed Good Friday in each of

our parishes.

Please Keep in Prayer...the young people from our cluster who will soon receive 1st Com-

munion and Confirmation. First Communion dates are April 10 and 17 and Confirmation is

April 14. Our thanks to their parents and teachers who are preparing them for these mile-

stone steps in their faith journey.

“Over 60” Lunch Party…. is tomorrow, Monday, March 21, 2016 at 12 noon in

Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish Center. Mark your calendars as you won’t want

to miss it. Bring a friend for a tasty lunch and meet more new cluster friends.

Easter Flowers...HC and MIC will continue to accept Easter flower donations through Holy

Week; SW through Wed., March 23. Please place your donation (in an envelope marked

Flowers) in the collection basket of your respective parish and indicate if it is in memory of

someone. Donors and memorials will be listed in the bulletin during the Easter season.

CLUSTER NEWS (Continued) Lenten 40 days for Life...Do you know what Australia, China, Colombia, Russia

and Romania all have in common? They are among the 32 nations that hosted 40

Days for Life campaigns during the session which ended yesterday.

Yes, this global campaign, of which we were a part, involved

675,000 volunteers, 607 cities (273 here in our country) , and 3,895

local campaigns.

Thanks to all who took part through prayer, fasting and peaceful vigil

in front of Planned Parenthood in east St. Cloud. Indeed, we are seeing the power

of prayer as God is blessing our efforts. May He continue to bless the life saving

work of 40 Days for Life!!!

Tri-Cluster Men’s Group “Build Your Own Crucifix” project. Thanks to everyone who participated in the men's group “Build Your Own Cruci-

fix” project. The total number of crucifixes made was over 50. Father Ron will

bless the crucifixes during the Easter Sunday Masses and they can be picked up

afterwards. If you will be attending a Mass elsewhere, please contact Randy Ding-

man (320-333-4879), Mike Lommel (320-259-8777), or Dino Kremers (320-309-

3655) for the whereabouts of your crucifix.

Legion of Mary -Everyone is invited and welcome to join the Legion of Mary

group at MIC Parish Center. When: Tuesdays at 5pm preceding 6:30pm Mass.

HOLY CROSS Donation Baskets: Holy Cross Christian Women are beginning to assemble their

donation baskets for the Dinner/Auction. Like last year, we are looking for mem-

bers to offer baked goods, meals, embroidered dish towels, canned goods and other

crafts. We will create certificates to put in the baskets, so that the “winner” can

receive their baked goods throughout the year. These baskets will be auctioned off

at the Dinner/Auction but will benefit Holy Cross Christian Women. Any ques-

tions, please contact Michele Haus or Jeana Meyer. Thank You!

Without Your Help, Holy Cross Church Will Lose $22,000.00: Attention all Holy Cross Parish Members! Our parish is in need of your help!

We need new chair people for the Parish Festival. Due to medical reasons, our

current chair people can no longer run this event. If we cannot find a suitable re-

placement, there will be no festival and therefore no income from the festival.

There are already chair people for each event at the festival. We are looking for 2

or more people to manage the event as a whole. Training will be offered to those

who are interested. We are counting on our parish members to rally around our

church and our members. Please contact Marian Haus at the parish office: 320-398

-3900.

ways start one now and learn the art of palm weaving. If you need simple or or-

nate patterns or a tutorial, there are many resources on the internet. Choir Practice: The 10:30 a.m. Sunday Choir practice is Tuesday, March 22,

2016 at 7:00 pm.
