“I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face . . .

I will put my trust in him.” (Isaiah 8:17)

Sermon ‘Crumbs’ This morning’s text, Isaiah 8:11-22, connects with numerous other Isaiah passages. For example, on “do not fear what they fear,” look at Isaiah 7:4; 8:12-13; 10:24; 12:2; 35:4; 41:10,13,14; 51:7,12; 54:4,14. On the remnant of faithful Judahites who hear and heed the prophet, see Isaiah 10:20-22; 11:11,16; 28:5; 37:4; 46:3. On verse 17 and Isaiah’s resolve to “wait for the Lord,” see Isaiah 26:3; 37:6; 49:23 and many others on trusting God.

‘So I Guess I Don’t Need to Tithe Anymore?’ Legacy gifts like the large one we announced two weeks ago allow us to do projects we can’t fit into our operating budget. For ongoing expenses (the unexciting general fund), we need as much as ever the faithful stewardship of God’s people. God bless you as you give regularly and generously.

Numbers after names indicate how many years remain on that person’s term. A

“1” for someone means either (first term) they need to stand for re-election, or

(second term) they must take at least a year off that committee or board.

9th Annual Spring Luncheon, Concert, & Auction Fundraiser Join ZCM and the Zion Women’s Club for delicious food, beautiful music and a fun shopping experience March 14 at 11am. Everyone is welcome! Tickets are $17 for adults and $7 for kids. Limited tickets at the door, or visit the church office to purchase tickets.

Financial Peace University Starts March 24 The Dave Ramsey seminar has proven helpful to thousands of people, including many in our church family. This Spring we offer it again. This 9-week class will be offered Tuesday nights at 6:30, starting March 24th. Please sign up in the church office so we can order materials for you. The cost is $99 and includes a 1 year membership to financialpeace.com and all supporting programs. If previous attendees would like to participate again in the class, they can get replacement materials at a reduced rate. Please don’t wait. March 15 is the last day to register. Childcare is available. If you have questions, contact Jacob Zimmerman at 262-515-1782.

Baptism At CCC If you trust Chr ist as Savior and Lord, have you confessed that faith publicly in baptism? Use a contact card from the pew rack or email one of our pastors for more information about being baptized.

Are You A Member? Are you sure? Sometimes young adults who grew up at CCC assume that they are members of the congregation. But to be a member – and to participate in elections and serve in some roles here – you decide to join. Talk to Pastor Drew Wicklund for more information about our InRoads process.

Easter Flowers If you would like to order flowers in memory of your loved ones this Easter, and also help us decorate the Sanctuary, please find an envelope on the table in the lobby. Pink azaleas are $17, and Easter lilies are $10.75. Please make sure you give us the name of your loved one/ones to be included in the Easter bulletin. We need to order early, so please purchase early!

Quad City Revival (Zion, Round Lake, Waukegan, North Chicago) The North Shore Baptist Ministers Alliance is sponsoring a series of Revival meetings the week of March 15. The Zion-Benton Ministerial Association and our churches, including CCC have been invited to attend. Our pastors are planning on praying for and supporting this event by attending the opening night of the revival on Sunday March 15 at 7pm. We would like to ask our congregation to join us both in prayer for the event and attending on March 15. Some gospel oriented literature and a special invitation letter that you can use to invite your friends and family to the revival meetings is on a table in the lobby. You may take as many as you can use in inviting other to this event. We will provide bus or mini bus transportation to the meetings. If you would like a ride please sign up in the lobby or church office. See Pastor Mike for any questions or more details.

Each year they hold a camping program on their property and invite volunteers from around the world to come and assist in their camping program to Palestinian children, both Christian and Muslim. This years camp will be held from June 15-26. If you are interested in volunteering you can find the details on the Tent of Nations website: http://www.tentofnations.org/volunteer/volunteer-information/. VBS June 15-19 T-shirts are ordered! We’re getting closer to the theme reveal! Why do we as a church do VBS? All ages come together to spread the Gospel. We are blessed and so thankful to have a generous and praying church family. Our entire church can be involved by faithfully praying before, during, and after VBS and by donating to this ministry.

Thank You to many volunteers who helped with the Camp Zion Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction fundraiser held last night. It was a great time of fun, food and fellowship, all to benefit Camp Zion programs and see that more campers are able to attend. Thank you to those who donated items for the auction and contributed financially. We couldn't do this event without you!
