he instructs children in Pre-K through 6th grade. Craig is the co-author of the GIA published book, “First Steps in Music with Orff Schulwerk: Sing, Say, Dance, Play.” Craig is a sought-after clinician and choral conductor and has guest conducted for the Connecticut Music Educators’ Association Elementary Honors Choir, New Hampshire Music Educators’ Association Elementary Honors Choir, Kodály Organization of New York “Voices United” Festival, Pennsylvania Music Educators’ Association Elementary ChorusFest, and various All-County chorus groups throughout New York. Craig has presented elementary classroom music and choral workshops at various music education conferences, including national conferences for the National Association for Music Education, American Choral Directors Association, Organization of American Kodály Educators, American Orff Schulwerk Association and Feierabend Association for Music Education. Mr. Knapp is a Past-President of the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association and is actively involved with the New York State School Music Association, currently serving on their Curriculum Committee. Craig holds Lifetime Memberships in ACDA, FAME and OAKE.

James Ludwig (Nassau Men’s Choir) grew up singing as a chorister at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City on Long Island, where he learned to read music, sing Renaissance polyphony, tie a tie, and play ultimate frisbee. He currently teaches choral music in the Herricks School District on Long Island, where he works with both middle and high school singers, whose energy and sense of humor are truly a source of constant inspiration. Having been a singer himself throughout middle and high school, James believes choral music is especially valuable for young people. Like sports, it

teaches teamwork, discipline, and practice; and like visual arts it exposes teens to creative expression that is not accessible through video games and smartphones. James is a singer and board member in the eVoco Voice Collective. He has served as guest conductor for district and county festivals and has presented workshops about ensemble classroom management and strategies for teaching middle school music at both all-state and regional conferences for NYSSMA, NYSCAME, and ACDA. His choral compositions are available through GIA, Hinshaw, and a self-published catalog. His works have been performed in the United States and Great Britain, including by eVoco, the FSU Choral Union, and the Phoenix Chorale under the direction of Charles Bruffy. He holds degrees from Queens College and Berklee College of Music. James is thrilled to be invited to conduct the MYO Nassau Men’s Choir and help MYO’s tenor and bass voices continue singing as their voices develop.

Edward P. Norris III (Nassau Chamber Chorale) is the director of Choral Music at Glen Cove High School. He conducts the Mixed Chorus and Select Chorale and also teaches courses in Music Theory, and AP Music Theory. During Mr. Norris’ tenure at Glen Cove High School, the Mixed Chorus and Select Chorale have only received Gold Medals and Gold Medals with Distinction at the NYSSMA Major Ensemble festivals. In 2013, the Select Chorale was invited to perform at the White House for the President and Mrs. Obama, as well as other invited guests. In January of 2016, Mr. Norris and the

Select Chorale performed in a concert tour of Italy which included performances at St. Peter’s Basilica, the Church of San Lorenzo, and the Basilica of St. Francis. While on tour, the Chorale had the distinct honor to perform for His Holiness; Pope Francis at the Feast of the Epiphany at St. Peters. In the spring of 2019, the Chorale had the honor of performing at the Music For All National Choral Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Norris is very fortunate to have been a guest conductor/clinician at many choral festivals and is also an adjunct professor at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. Currently in his thirteenth year with MYO, Mr. Norris is extremely proud to be the director of the Chamber Chorale. In recent years, this group has performed some of the world’s finest choral literature in stunning performance settings. Mr. Norris is extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with these fine young vocalists!

Louise O’Hanlon (Nassau Symphonic Choir) has been an educator for the past 30 years. She is proud to have spent 25 of those years in the Herricks School District. Ms. O’Hanlon holds a Bachelor of Music and a Higher Diploma in Education from University College in Cork, Ireland; a Master’s Degree in Education from Lehman College (City University of New York); and certificates in both Orff (Hofstra University) and Kodaly (New York University). Louise has been studying choral conducting and taking further choral studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey during

the summer months. At Herricks High School, Louise teaches Treble Choir, Chamber Choir, and Mixed Chorus. Under Ms. O’Hanlon’s directorship, Herricks Chamber Choir has consistently received ratings of Gold and Gold with Distinction for Level VI performance at NYSSMA. Chamber Choir has performed at the ACDA All Eastern Conference (American Choral Director Association) in 2012 and at the NYACDA Conference in October 2016. Her choirs have also performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, Queens College, Adelphi University, Hofstra University, and Westminster Choir College. Professionally, Ms. O’Hanlon has been a guest conductor for several All County festivals in Suffolk County. Ms. O’Hanlon’s passion for World Music has led to reading sessions at Westminster Choir College and a presentation at the Crane School of Music. In the fall of 2017, Ms. O’Hanlon presented World Music workshops at the Balanced Mind Conference and the NYACDA Conference. As the conductor of Symphonic Choir she loves to expose her students to a wide variety of ethnically diverse music. In addition to choral leadership, Ms. O’Hanlon is also a Health Coach and Yoga and Mindfulness teacher.
