The meet commenced with welcome address by Ravinder Kour, Principal of RM Public School, followed by a brief presentation on the topic 'Importance of Comprehensive and Inclusive Education in the today's soci- ety'. The main discussion was on the latest CBSE circulars, with special focus on Assessment criteria status of classes VI-VII and IX-X, Regular access of CBSE web- site for the online filling of class X, Internal marks and class XII grades as well as doubt clearing session per- taining to the latest CBSE circulars. The schools also discussed the status of Sahodaya web- site as well as formulated the tentative Sahodaya Activity Calendar for 2018-19. Among 35 students who appeared in the selection process, only nine students namely Piyush Bhasin, Amir Najeeb, Umar Aliyas Najar, Abhishek Choudhary, Rizvan Bashir Rather, Salman Ali Khan, Mohammad Asad Malik, Sunil Kumar Digra and Junaid Ahmed Hafiz were selected by the company on annual packaged of Rs.1.8 to 2.5 lakh per annum. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The BJP, which is in power in Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with the PDP, today expressed concern over "delay" in completion of various develop- mental projects in Jammu city and urged the ministers con- cerned to complete these at the earliest. Virender Gupta, the BJP's State Spokesperson, said con- struction of an artificial lake, that started in 2008-09, laying of a pathway and setting up of parks along the banks of the Tawi river, need to be started on a war footing to make Jammu city a tourist attraction. The Bahu Fort cable car project, which was planned in 2002, needs to be completed at the ear- liest, he said, and expressed con- cern over the "slow pace" of work on Patnitop ropeway project which was planned in 2007. It is a matter of great concern that projects envisaged or start- ed in Jammu region have not been completed and some of them have been put in cold stor- age, Gupta said. The project for widening B C Road in the heart of Jammu city and constructing flyover over it and in the New Plot-Janipur road is not expected to start at least during this dispensation, the BJP leader claimed. In view of the traffic conges- tion, flyovers, widening of road between Ambphalla and Janipur, and that between Jewal Chowk and Talab Tillo are of much need, he said. Gupta said the projects are of prime importance and appealed to the ministers and depart- ments concerned to make utmost efforts so that these are completed at the earliest. STATE TIMES NEWS NOWSHERA: Former MLC Ravinder Sharma blamed the State Government of adopting totally arbitrary attitude and favoritism on political considerations in the creation of the posts of ADCs in different areas, ignoring areas which were more deserving on all param- eters and merit, which has resulted into unrest amongst people. In a statement Sharma lashed out at the PDP-BJP government for adopting an arbitrary approach in total disregard to merit or criteria and without adopting any fair or transparent proce- dure or mechanism for the creation of these adminis- trative units, which has caused large scale resent- ment and unrest in different parts like Nowshera and Sunderbani, while ADC has been setup at Koteranka, besides in Billawar and Basohli etc, which are repre- sented by Ministers in the government. Sharma questioned that how can a democratic gov- ernment do it in such an arbitrary manner purely on political considerations least caring for the genuine demands and needs of the people, without considering any reasonable parameters or adopting any fair, trans- parent criteria for the same. The previous governments, in order to extend such administrative facilities, have always adopted some mechanism like setting up of Billoria Committee, Ganai Committee and thereafter the proposals were consid- ered and examined by the cabinet sub-committee but now only pick and choose for political interest of ruling parties has been the sole cri- teria, for peace meal announcements, which is questionable. The people of Nowshera are observing indefinite bandh and people of Sunderbani and several other areas in Rajouri and Poonch have also resorted to protests and the government is totally unmoved and peo- ple have been left to fight for their rights. The government is square- ly responsible for creating this chaos and confusion and mess of the situation on this front. Ravinder slams government for adopting arbitrary attitude STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Natrang on Saturday inaugurated its ten day theatre workshop at its studio the- atre with the lighting of traditional lamp by Director Natrang Balwant Thakur. The workshop will include exercises focussing on team building, acting skills, understanding different characters, method acting and personality development games. The main focus of this workshop will be on intensive training and direct contact of actors with directors. The training will encourage young talents who wish to enhance their act- ing, dance and music skills. JKESL releases documentary on Brig Rajinder Singh STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Twin brother-sis- ter duo, Swapnil and Swapnila,, students of JK Public School Kunjwani and children of Sarmistha and Shib Narayan Acharya from Jammu have won this year's Online Open Photography Competition organised by the Indian Army on Army Day 2018 under the aegis of Additional Director General of Public Interface (ADGPI). The theme was Indian Army-Symbol of Nation Building. The children received the certificates and cash prizes from Army HQ through their school authorities. Swapnil was awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000. Swapnil submitted his photograph depicting stu- dents of Army Goodwill Public School of Drass, which is the 2nd coldest inhabited place in the World which bagged first prize after being judged by the special jury in under 15 years category. Swapnil who loves to trav- el clicked this photograph during his tour in that area. The photograph he had clicked was able to tell a story through its composi- tion, lighting, and most importantly it's subject matter. That was the reason that despite stiff competition jury adjudged Swapnil's picture as best one. His sister Swapnila, a State Level numero uno in NHPC Painting competi- tion also participated in painting as well as photog- raphy competition. Her photograph clicked of NCC cadets won consola- tion prize in the same cate- gory. Their mother Sarmistha Acharya said, "I am very happy with my children's achievements," adding that Swapnil is keen in photog- raphy since childhood. She revealed though they were from a tiny hamlet of Digsui in Hooghly West Bengal, but are stationed in Jammu for many years. She is of the view that as civilians if they can con- tribute a minimum for the Armed Forces by projecting their hard work and posi- tive image in J&K, it would give immense satisfaction to the family. Expressing gratitude for the amazing support extended by the well wish- ers, Sarmistha Acharya said that messages of con- gratulations especially those received from senior Armed forces officials including retired Army chiefs, retired Air chief, retired Army commanders of Northern and Western Command and especially the present Adjutant General, GOC Northern Command and Chief of Staff Western Command has boosted the morale of both children. In regard to Jammu ring road project, it was informed that 90% of the land in Jammu for the project has already been handed over to the NHAI. Chief Secretary asked DCs to submit Utilization Certificates (UCs) of the disbursed compensation amount on account of land acquisi- tion to the NHAI so that balance compensation amount is released to them. He asked NHAI to ensure that the pending compensation amount on account of land acquisition is released to the DCs imme- diately for timely disbursement to the land owners.

mechanism like setting up ofBilloria Committee, GanaiCommittee and thereafterthe proposals were consid-ered and examined by thecabinet sub-committee butnow only pick and choose forpolitical interest of rulingparties has been the sole cri-teria, for peace mealannouncements, which isquestionable.

The people of Nowsheraare observing indefinitebandh and people ofSunderbani and several

other areas in Rajouri andPoonch have also resorted toprotests and the governmentis totally unmoved and peo-ple have been left to fight fortheir rights.

The government is square-ly responsible for creatingthis chaos and confusion andmess of the situation on thisfront.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir,Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Pulwama, Srinagar,Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts participated viavideo conferencing.

CS noted with satisfaction the progress achieved in the landacquisition proceedings in Srinagar ring road project, where mostof the land acquisition proceedings are at its final stages and landis being handed over to the NHAI by next week. In regard toJammu ring road project, it was informed that 90% of the land inJammu for the project has already been handed over to the NHAI.Chief Secretary asked DCs to submit Utilization Certificates (UCs)of the disbursed compensation amount on account of land acquisi-tion to the NHAI so that balance compensation amount is releasedto them. He asked NHAI to ensure that the pending compensationamount on account of land acquisition is released to the DCs imme-diately for timely disbursement to the land owners.
