Third Sunday in Ordinary Time To prepare for his ministry, Jesus gets baptized by his cousin, John the Baptist, and then goes on a silent retreat in the desert. In his preaching, Jesus tells us to pray often to his Fa-ther. Jesus begins preaching in Galilee. He teaches by using parables and miracles. Jesus also calls on his first disciples (students), Peter and Andrew, James and John. There were 12 disciples. Can you name the other 8? Can you name the one who betrayed Jesus?
