Opportunities to Serve the Lord: We have an opening in the cleaning ministry that needs to be filled.

Contact Julie Spencer if you’d be willing to serve the Lord in this ministry.

Special Needs Ministries needs a couple of people to help during the 10:30 a.m. service. Contact Jeanne Hill if you’d be willing to serve in this ministry.

Please pray for Becky McIntosh as she is in Haiti through July 12 to work with the group “Many Hands for Haiti”; and for Graham Brock who is in Africa on a missions trip.

Play Time - for parents and young children (birth-preschool) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. We will meet at Ashby Park this Tuesday, July 9 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. In case of rain we will meet in the Early Childhood area of the main building.

Mug and Muffin & Children’s Clothing Closet - Ladies of all ages, stop in at the Student Campus Chapel for a cup of coffee or a smoothie, a muffin, and good conversation at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. If you have or need gently used children’s clothing, come share items at the Children’s Clothing Closet. Please sign up online or at the Events Center.

The Young Married Sunday School Class is beginning a new series next Sunday, July 14. This study by Chip Ingram is entitled Effective Parenting in a Defective World. In this day and age, children face a far more defective world than the children of previous decades. Every day they are bombarded with unique pressures and a host of ungodly influences. God has a plan for effectively raising your children and you can learn it. Join us for Sunday School in Room 215.

Vacation Bible School - July 15 - 18 from 9:15 - 11:00 a.m. OR 6:15 - 8:00 p.m. To register your children ages 3 - fifth grade go to our website: newhopeassembly.org and click on Vacation Bible School under the Events tab, or go to the Events Center.

There is a Nursing Mothers Room available in Room 140 next to the first floor women’s restroom.

If you are new to the church and haven’t had an opportunity to get acquainted with Pastor Weaver, you are invited to join him in the Lounge, located at the top of the back staircase during Sunday School for an informal time of refreshments and sharing.

We will be receiving a special offering today for the printing of The Life & Teachings of Christ for pastors to have in Tanzania. The book will be in Swahili and will bless these pastors where there is great revival. The Tanzanian Assemblies of God has grown in recent years from 400 churches to over 7,000 churches. Please give a generous special missions offering for this project of Ken and Trudy Moeckl.

The church family is invited to the marriage ceremony of Gail Peckumn and Charlie Bemis on Saturday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. here at New Hope.

Congratulations to Larry & Aleen Albers who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on July 13. Memories and good wishes may be sent to 430 NE 60th St., Pleasant Hill, IA 50327.

We need large canopy tents for VBS. If you have one you are willing to share, please call the church office.

Adopt a camper in prayer for middle school camp. Simply put your name next to a camper’s at the Events Center and pray for them every day. Middle School Camp is July 8 - 12 and we count on your prayers!

STL State Fair Fundraiser: August 8 - 18. Sign up before it fills up! We serve breakfast at the Cattlemen’s Beef Quarters every morning of the fair (6:00-10:15 a.m.) to raise money for Speed The Light. You receive free admission & free breakfast. We need help with some dinner shifts as well. Adult and student (completed 6th grade) volunteers sign up online or at the Events Center.

Camp New Hope - Basketball Camp for boys and girls - Fall 2013 4th, 5th & 6th graders: July 22 - 27. Girls Camp will be 8:00-10:00 a.m. and Boys Camp will be 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cost is $60 with a jersey, or $20 without. Register and pay at the Events Center. Deadline is TODAY!

Drop off stowed luggage, meds, money, and mail TONIGHT from 5:00 - 5:45. Meet at the Student Campus at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, July 8. We will return on Friday, July 12 around 7:30 p.m.

High School Camp is almost here! Drop off stowed luggage & meds on Sunday, July 21 from 5:00 - 5:45 p.m. Meet us on Monday, July 22 at the Student Campus at 4:30 a.m. We will return around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26. If you have not paid the final balance, please do so as soon as possible.

All Church Campout - August 29 - September 2, Sunstream Retreat Center, Ogden. Cost: $80 full hookup; $60 electric only; tent site, $10/night; motel room, $50/night; dorm, $25/night. RV sites are flat rate for the weekend and include up to 4 activity wristbands per site, other options include1 wristband. Call the church office to register & get more details. Limited sites available!

2013 Seasoned Saints (50+) Branson Trip November 5 - 8. Cost: $375 per person double occupancy. The price includes: 5 shows, a three-night stay at the beautiful Grand Plaza Hotel, coach transportation, three suppers, and three breakfast meals. Register by paying $175 per person to Pastor Weaver (make checks to New Hope).
