New on FORMED... HAPPINESS Happiness is both a philosophical itinerary and a practical program for life’s most important journey—from the mundane and the meaningless to transcendent fulfillment. Hosted by Fr. Robert J. Spitzer, this program features interviews with well-known psychiatrists, celebrities, New Testament scholars, physicists, and priests as they uncover the deeper answers to life's most profound questions.

From the Pastor, Our next Sacred Heart Community Meal will be

held Tuesday, June 21. Please note that we are changing the

name of this outreach from Free Community Meal to Sacred

Heart Community Meal. The format and the program are

remaining the same, but we are changing the name to help

everyone realize that all are invited to these monthly meals. It

is a beautiful and marvelous sight when people from the

community who come here for the meal are joined by

parishioners of Sacred Heart. If you could help out at the

June meal by bringing a dessert, there will be a sign-up sheet

next weekend in the gathering space. It’s a great help when

parishioners supply cookies, cake, cupcakes and pies. This

gives everyone in the parish a chance to be part of preparing

the meal.

A big “thank you” to our Spiritual Development

Committee for their hard work on planning and preparing

for the 40 Hours Devotion. It took many people giving their

time and talent to do everything needed to celebrate this

ancient and powerful tradition. I am also grateful to everyone

who made time to be part of Eucharistic Adoration over the

weekend. May our love for our Blessed Lord in the Holy

Eucharist grow ever stronger in our minds and in our hearts.

Great News! We recently met with the

representative for LifeTouch to begin serious planning and

preparation for our new pictorial directory. Please watch

your mail this week for an important and informative

letter about the directory. I believe everything you will

need to know about signing up will be included in that

letter. The first opportunities for photos will be here in our

gymnasium the last week of July. We are hoping to have

one or two other opportunities in the fall for photos. But,

please try to be available for picture taking during that last

week of July if you are going to be in town. Let’s have

100% participation in the new directory. It has been about

six years since the last one.

Vacation Bible School will be held the first week

of August. I am so grateful to our VBS coordinators, Matt

and Katie Frye for their willingness and eagerness to head

this annual event. It was a great success last year. Please

mark your calendars for this year’s Vacation Bible School.

We are really in need of many volunteers if we are going

to be able to have VBS this year.

CD of the Week: Take time after Mass to check

out the many CDs available in the Lighthouse Kiosk

regarding our Catholic faith. There are many interesting

topics! Don’t take a vacation from your faith, take a CD

along on vacation to learn more about your faith.
